I don't think Lewis ruined Tua's career. Tua had a management problem. Tyson already ruined himself before he fought Holyfield (how the hell can you piss away $400 million and end up with millions of dollars of debt?). And as for Jones? After he fought Ruiz, there really wasn't a lot in there. So I guess he ruined his own. And Johnson ruined Tarver's. How about Jirov-Mesi?

B-Hop almost ruined Tito, the same way PacMan did to Barrera. And yes, I agree, I wouldn't call it ruined if they are still around and strong.

Honeyghan doing Curry. Rosario on Camacho. Chavez on Rosario. Hamed on Sanchez. Hearns on Cuevas. Jones ruined Toneys career for a long time after he dominated him.

The most severe cases where a fighters career was ruined are Mel Taylor/JCC and Ray Mancini/DKK. Meldrick took, arguably, the most brutal beating in the history of the sport, and still managed to stand up to the greatest mexican fighter of all time, winning the fight in the hearts of the people. This fight was a testament to his heart and greatness. He had multiple facial fractures, internal bleeding, multiple cuts inside his mouth, and bruises/contusions galore. His career was beat out of him that night.

Mancini never went "Boom Boom" again after Kim died. Another case where it seemed that a fighter was afraid to let his killer instinct go would be Eubank/Watson. It seemed like Eubank was always afriad to turn it on when he had his man hurt or in trouble after what he did to Watson.

I never thought Tito really "ruined" anyones career. Campas made his living knocking out garbage men and plumbers anyway...I never thougt he very special. As someone mentioned before, Reid was inevitably going to have to give it up with the eye. Vargas had notable wins after his beating.

I don't know if Honeyghan ruined Curry, maybe it was just psychological **** with DC. It was interesting to watch however, because you rarely get to see a fighter look so stellar before a fight and so painfully average afterwards.

John Ruiz, in some small yet painful psychological way, mentally ruins everyone he faces with that creepy uncle hug he administers.

That Reminds me, Jimmy Garcia's death ruined Gabriel Ruelas as well. He too held his punches back after that.

Very incorrect post. Allow me to asssit! Lewis ruined NO ONE...Tyson ruined HIMSELF....Holyfield ruined NO ONE but is RUINING or has RUINED HIMSELF....Tarver ruined NO ONE...TIME ruined JONES...The Gatti/Comache assessment is correct. Here are some others: Benn ruined McClellan, Griffith ruined Paret, Chavez ruined Taylor, Eubanks ruined Watson, Mancini ruined Kim, Ali ruined HIMSELF, etc, etc...

                    Gatti did not ruin Gamache.

Gamache was brutally KO'd by Tony Lopez in '92.

Orzubek Nazarov knocked Gamache down 4x, in two rounds, the last time laying him out every bit as horribly as did Gatti....in '94.

Gamache took a horrible beating from Julio Cesar Chavez in '96.

Gatti did nothing to Gamache that hadn't been done before.
