Martinez' fight night weight was 170 against Dzinziruk.
Pacquaio is usually at 148 on fight night.
Mayweather refuses to weigh-in on fight night for his past couple of bouts (Why?), but it's fair to say that he's at 159-160 on fight night.
Why? Because he hasn't since the delahoya fight, in which Oscar didn't want to get weighed in.
You do realize the unofficial weigh-in has no rules? People could weighin with boots, jacket or stripped down naked. It's really inaccurate.
And Martinez would not weigh as much if he fought at 154. Check out his previous weights when he fought at that weight.
i posted this like 2 pages ago, but it seems people missed it. here's an interview with martinez, read the first 2 questions, it'll basically answer this thread. http://www.606v2.com/t9819-qa-with-s...villa-martinez
also! this is PABLO sarmiento, not gabriel sarmiento. they're brothers, but gabriel is sergio's real trainer.
He just expects guys from 2-3 weight classes below him to fight....but he cant go up 1 class. I'm glad he got rid of that Paul Williams turd...but i wanna see him fight someone relevant
What's the big deal? He's only asking them to move up one weight not 3. Pacquiao and Mayweather are 147 fighters who have won titles at 154. Martinez had the 154 and 160 title till they took them away. One up and one down no BIG DEAL! Besides when has the 147 class been such *******? Leonard, Trinidad, De La Hoya, Duran, Hearns and many many others moved up to 160 to challenge the middleweight king. NO CATCH WEIGHT or DRUG TEST.....shut the **** up with your F***ing and excuses for these two p***es
the truth was he was kicking Tony's ass but he could not knock him out period. HE just stopped trying. The HBO guys are the ones who started all the talk about Pacquiao letting him survive
" I started at 147, in 2003 climbed to 154 and due to the demands of my career I had to climb to 160. I consider myself a strong 154 or small 160. The 168 will only come if there is a profitable business or an agreed weight where both boxers have to make a sacrifice. I'm open to any fight with the best, but not where only I have to sacrifice. I'll give you an example. I'd fight with Bernard Hopkins tomorrow at a weight of 165 and agreed fighting weight of 172. "
