Gomez fell out of promotional favor a while back. No more easy paydays, no more even money. He has to go through murderer's row and Alvarez might be the easiest of the bunch. Chavez has enough jab, when he uses it, to beat Gomez with a form of reach. Angulo is just too mean. He'll never find Vanes and I'm not hearing any other names in his future. If Gomez could get past any of these guys he's beating the odds and rocking the boat..

thing is with alvarez's recent opponents, like hatton, lovemore, and rhodes, they didn't try to hurt or stop him, that's why they all basically went to 12. j.cotto and baldomir wanted to touch him up and actually fight, look what happened. i'm not sure if this is right to say, but i kind of feel that saul fights at his opponent's pace. hopefully gomez puts some pressure and really comes to fight, saul needs somewhat of a challenge

I was super disappointed Gomez pulled out of his fight against JCC Jr. Gomez was the better boxer, but JCC Jr was going to have a massive size advantage (147 fighter vs 160 fighter). It was a good matchup.

However, he doesn't have a shot in the dark against Canelo. RIP Gomez. I still hate you for retiring Castillo. (Yeah, I know he didnt retire)

Giving Top Rank props over GBP is a bit silly right now. Top Rank can't light a candle to GBP at this point. It isn't that they don't have good fighters, it's that they protect them WAY too much. You've got this one backwards.

umm do you watch much boxing?

Gomez is better than he's ever been. I'm not saying he's great. What i am saying is he's better than when Cotto fought him, hands down.

alvarez strikes me as the kind of kid that if he did lose a fight against a better opponent, hed just come back smarter, faster, and stronger. hell stick around.
