Alfonso Gomez was not amused with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez calling him a 'clown.' During their press tour, Gomez dedicating a rap song to Canelo, which the young Mexican took offense to. Gomez vows that on September 17, at Staples Center, he will clobber Alvarez to capture the WBC junior middleweight crown. Gomez feels that a knockout is necessary to take Alvarez out. Getting a decision over the Mexican superstar, in Los Angeles, will be a tough task to accomplish.

I would never pick Gomez to knock anyone out but I do think he fight hard until Canelo knocks him down multiple times. It should be entertainingly brutal by the 5th.

A really unfortunate match up because I like Gomez and want him to have a half decent career. Canelo has gone beyond prospect and is at a point it'd ruin him to lose to Gomez.
