Why didn't HBO televise Pacquiao/Mosley?

    Shane TOTALLY dogged it.

A "real" fighter would have gone out punching, trying to win until the bitter end.

What Shane did was a disgrace to his legacy, whatever that actually is...

Because the fight was utter trash & hbo knew that. They have been trying to put on quality fight,Pacman Mosley wasn't 1 of them.Cotto-Mayorga was bad too,but that fight didn't contain arguably the best fighter in the sport.

Showtime offered a better deal because HBO wasn't even interested in either fights.

We all know Showtime gets HBO rejects. Pac-Mosley was a reject of a match in all ways.

It was HBO loss and Showtime win. But the fight itself yeah a disappointment.

have to agree with this. i do think cotto/mayorga triggered the idea of moving it though, either way, both crap fights when you look at them on paper (and in this case, they turned out to be that).

It had about as much to do with Pacquiao, than it had to do with Rios or Cotto. HBO boxings budgets issues, dud fights, and ****ty ratings were just as relevant. Why isn't Kerry Davis fired? How come they haven't named a replacement?

How was it view a big mistake? some of you guys are beyond ridiculous..The fight itself and its PPV sell rate was a failure, If anything they would be thanking him for not putting money into that fight...

Of course HBO was interested in Pacquiao-Mosley. It would have been foolish of them not to have been, because that fight would have made tens of millions of dollars for them and their parent company (Time Warner).

Good god almight, HBO was interested in Pac-Mosley. Greenburg really wanted the fight. Showtime came with a better package deal. CBS, now did they use CBS to their full potential? Probably not. Did it flop? Maybe so. But, HBO wanted this fight but it was Arum who took the better deal and went across the street. HBO is going after Pac-JMM III and that's just as garbage. But, that's because HBO knows with whatever fight Pac has that's a profit on their books. Showtime profited from Pac-Mosley. HBO would have profited from Pac-Mosley. No matter how garbage the PPV was they would have profited. So why wouldn't they want to profit?

And, HBO did not reject Cotto-Mayorga. I don't know every keeps saying that. It was Cotto-Vanes, which would not have been bad BTW. Much better than Cotto-Mayorga.
