I could go on and on, your way off and don't know what your talking about. There's been many Mexican/American warriors in the history of boxing.
I was a big Carbajal fan back in the day, he's one of the fighters that got me back into following Olympic boxing.

Ortiz quit against Maidana, he has a hard time accepting that. Yeah it's probably hard to admit, but that's exactly what happened. Max wasn't the only one who got at him for it, many did. It's Victor who has a hard time moving on and he has the nerve to say "That's in the past".

I think Vic knows he has to go in there and fight his a$$ off to try to beat Floyd but he can't help the fact that he generally likes Floyd. I was at the NY presser and I found it interesting that Vic jumped in a Picture Floyd was taking with his kids. He jumped in like he was a part of the family lol. I like Victor a lot and I think he stuck trying to figure out how he should act vs how people feel he should act. Either way it was a decent face off. It was different feel than the others. Not the best not the worst.
Floyd Jr is Victor Ortiz boxing idol.

i think ortiz was like this way before mayweather even came into the picture. now, he's not use to all the attention, so when he's put on the spot like a face/off shoot, he doesn't act normal, he seemed a bit tense or anxious, like he didn't want to be there (or wasn't ready to be there i guess)

yeah, you can actually say that. but i think ortiz just has a hard time being praised by people he knows bashed him when he was at his lowest (maidana loss)

i think so too, and i hope he does. he can't try and pick his shots with floyd, he'll fail. he just needs to fight him like he did berto, and not give up. i hope he comes with that mentality and is able to take all of floyd's shots. floyd himself said he'll stand in front of him and fight, not run away. so if ortiz has that mentality, i can see him winning most of those exchanges. who knows though, floyd is on another level and i'm not sure ortiz is ready, we'll see what happens.

I don't disagree. But I think the same stuff that made some people think Victor would be a force early on is still present after the Maidana fight. I also think he learned from the Peterson fight. A fight he won but because he wasn't willing to take it to the next level he ended up getting a draw. He also was too complacent against Nate Campbell. He showed some of his potential against Berto but he is not ready for what Floyd will give him. He might be able to make it interesting though. I just hope he uses the stuff the media said about him to fuel his career instead of having it make him doubt himself all the time. We will learn a lot after this fight because I think he will have to deal with another setback .

"there has been whispers in some boxing circles about ortiz's chin but, you can't question this guy's heart. CLEARLY ortiz has a lot of heart." - max kellerman (ortiz-maidana round 5)

LOL. He was passionate. How he uses that passion now is the key thing. People say he is strange but maybe he needs to be. Whatever bring the best out of him. If Max calls the fight fight that might serve as fuel for him to go extra hard.
