Well Ben Thompson from fight hype said people associated to Manny contated him about making the fight with Floyd. I doubt Manny has any knowledge of it and would assume its one of his "associates" trying to earn a bonus.
It seems like once again floyd is making up this thing. Like when he (mayweather) said someone from pacquiao's camp sent him an email asking what would be if pacquiao tested positive, can it be kept a secret? none after that or any validity was ever heard again. Maybe who ever tried to contact floyd behind arum's back was the same guy who inject steroids on pacquiao in the buttocks between workouts. I wonder who ever sent those emails to teddy atlas anyways??? Even teddy kept his mouth shut since then. That's atleast couple of years ago. Floyd has to give up some names so we can all believe him. He has lied more than once to us fans and only balllicker like you would believe what he have to say.
Err actually Michael Marley (big *******) said someone from Pac's camp without Pac's knowledge did send this e-mail.
I notice many people saying or asking "why didn't Floyd just negotiate?"
Well, Floyd, Schaefer, Haymon and Ellerbe all know (and clearly and definitively so) that Pacquiao is represented by Bob Arum.
In much the same way that Brian Cashman can't pull Alex Rodriguez aside and renegotiate a contract with A-Rod directly, Haymon can't just deal with Manny and Buboy. Scott Boras would probably (um, definitely) sue the Yankees if they did that.
Manny has a legal and binding agreement with his promoter...until he doesn't. For all his legal problem, Floyd hasn't made dumb negotiating moves. Floyd did not violate his Top Rank contract...he bought it out. Did it the right way. FMJ hired Goossen and lived up to the contract. FMJ has no problems with Golden Boy.
If Team Mayweather negotiated directly with Pac, Arum would immediately (and correctly) drag both parties into court.
Have any of you ever bought a house? If you have a real estate agent, did you notice that the seller's agent didn't call you directly? They called your agent. You must respect the agency relationship.
