If he chooses to re-match Tarver to add another championship to his ledger, I have absolutely no problem with it. 'Nard has earned the right to do whatever he wants from this point on. However, NOBODY should even slightly believe that Antonio has an iota of a chance to beat B-Hop. Bernard is Tarver's daddy, and 25 lbs ain't changing that.
Tarver lost his first fight against Bernard before he ever walked in the ring. If Tarver has his swagger on, he gives himself a chance a la RJJ, Woods, Greene. Against B-Hop, he could barely look him in the eye, and was just plain ol scared of the man.
If he fights Hopkins again, Tarver might get knocked out.
Another Tarver win doesn't do anything for Bernard...just focus on Dawson
So he should focus on Dawson for another 4 years or so? Bernard isn't gay. Do you focus on guys that long? Get off the stuff kid. Milk is much better for ya
On topic - I'd want to see what would happen in that one. If Bernard goes to cruiser, maybe David will meet him there...would be something, that one There's also Denis waiting...

It would be a good fight. Tarver looked pretty solid at CW. If Hopkins fought Tarver after Dawson, wind or lose, he'd already have prepared for a southpaw.

Hopkins is a master at forcing opponents to fight at his pace. He leads with his head, so it's almost impossible to land a clean shot. His style is boring as hell. He wrestles, he fouls, he confusing the hell out of his opponents.
Calzaghe beat him just be sheer volume punching, but never really landed anything clean.
Tarver should stay away from Hopkins. He doesn't have the stamina nor the speed Calzaghe had.
WBC light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is open to making further history by moving up in weight to face Antonio Tarver in a rematch. Tarver recently captured the IBO cruiserweight title by stopping Danny Green in Australia. In 2006, Hopkins moved up from middleweight, to dominate Tarver over twelve rounds for the IBO light heavyweight crown. Tarver, who bulked up to heavyweight for a starring role in the movie Rocky Balboa, had to drop nearly 50-pounds or more before the fight.
hopkins will make more money if he just fights the guys moving up from 168 lbs... but another belt at cruiser will add to his legacy, but he already beat tarver.
