Why is Alexander moving up in Weight? The 140 division is stacked

Can someone explain to me the reasoning behind this?

The 140 division is stacked with great talent, there are a lot of great potential match ups to be made.

Why is Alexander moving to 147?

Is Kevin Cunningham is using the weight as an excuse for Devon's recent bad performances?

We've seen in this various other fighters, Cotto, Pavlik, Mallinagi.. After a few bad perfomances they feel like they can revitalise their careers in a new weight class.

Alexander needs to stay at 140 where he can re-establish himself in the mix of top fighters.

Alexander is scared of the rest at 140. He knows he's at the bottom of that stacked division. He needs to rematch Matthyse.

Well maybe they came to the realization that Alexander might not be as good everyone thought he would be at 140...

Because he lost his last three. Dude cannot hang at 140, so Cunningham is moving him into a much lighter division. His team knows HBO has put their chips on him becoming the face of American boxing anyway.

The fact that 140 is stacked is part of the reason Alexander is moving up. Three losses in a row, the dude is tired of getting beat. Look at who he wants at 147? Paulie is a light touch who has been beat by every big name he faced. That choice speaks volumes. Both Devon and Paulie will dance around the ring all night and play pat-a-cake as neither can bust a g****.

It's because Khan and Bradley are trying to chase the big money fights with Pacquiao and Mayweather, not hands of foam Mallinagi.

I'm not hating on Alexander, I want him to do well.

I find it so frustrating that Cunningham and his team have made this ****** decision.

I don't understand the reasoning of Cunningham then.

People are saying they want to move up in weight to avoid the tough fights at 140.

The fights at 147 are going to be even harder with the division hotting up as you mention.
