Maybe he does not need a strong punch, he does great on points.
im suprised that he doesnt win by tko more often.
he doesnt have one punch ko or kd power like many hw's do, but he is fast as hell and can throw good combos
theres a big asterisk next to that stoppage though, evander was wayyyy past his prime
Thats a fair point. But I dont think in general chin improves or worsesens with age in most cases. It is True that if Holyfield was younger he would have taken less punches and thus not been stopped. But Toney's punches were hurting Holyfield badly. As were Rid**** Bowe's.
Yes..he does, but his style is to wear his opponent down and use slick defense.
Nobody is saying he is powerpuncher type fighter. He isn't going to KO most guys, not top 10 guys with one punch. But he does have adequate power. He CAN KO good chinned top heavyweights if things go his way. There is no question.

No, but after taking enough beatings you begin to lose your ability to take a punch. Evander has been hit in the head as much as anyone, coupled with age = not as good of an equillibrium as when he was younger.
Toney stopped him, fair and square, but it probably would not have happened like that if Holyfield were younger.

I never disagreed with that. If he was younger he would not have been hit as much. However it does not change the fact. That in my opinion chin does not generally fade with age. And Toney did indeed stop him.
