How pwerful can ur promoter be that ur fightin Gennady? Really? Pirog shldve fought Abrham whos comin back to his weight class! Dis is like a tune up fight for Pirog right? He shld fight Sturm, Golovkin or even Martinez! Gennady has no power! Pirog in 6rds! TKO! Maybe they will sell 12 tix for dis fight! I'm excited for this match.
Both fighters are top ten in their divisions according to the Ring magazine. Hopefully the fight takes place at a weight that's fair to both fighters.
If Vanes wins, he's off to Angulo for the right to fight Canelo.
If Pirog wins, he's off to fight Martinez. (Providing DiBella allows it)

I'm not sure if he rejected an HBO offer specifically, but Pirog turned down a fight on American television because he would have gotten paid more in Russia. Bad move IMO. If he really wanted a shot at Martinez, he should have taken less money for the American exposure.Comment
