  • Has Golden Boy Promotions Ever Cheater a Fighter Out Of Money?

Of all the promoters, Golden Boy seems like the most honest one.

Sure, it's a cutthroat business and GBP is aggressive in trying to lure bankable fighters onto their roster. You may not like that, but you would want them doing it if you were a shareholder.

With all of the scuzzy and thieving promoters around, has Golden Boy Promotions ever stole* money from a fighter?

The way King stole from everybody, or the way Arum is stealing from Pacquiao.

The owners are former boxers as well so they know how to treat there employes

Fans hate on Al Haymon, but at least he only takes a tiny share from his fighters pockets whilst doing his best to make them the most he can.

Even the guys who left GBP (Barrera, Mosley, Marquez, etc) have not said that they were shorted money.

Don King put on great cards for fans but robbed the fighters.

Golden Boy puts on great cards for fans and gives good money to the fighters.

Arum doesn't care about the fans and robs his fighters.

very true story in fact for one of Arreola's last fights the amount he was supposed to get was less than what he was advised and Haymon came out of pocket to get him the rest.

say what you want about Haymon but if you're his fighter you're taken care of and then some

and with GBP I think cheat is the term but they have indeed shorted fighters out of their $

Ponce had this problem. Once he became champion his minimums went up, well GBP couldn't pay him those so they offered him fights at lower than his minimum and effectively told him to take it or leave it.

Oscar said that he would treat boxers better, and he does.

GBP also has the HIGHEST payout rate.

That's what I call "honest business". It is what it is.

Ponce's belt wasn't bringing in a single more dollar. At least they were honest with him.

Real talk. People hate on Al Haymon all the time, but really he's one hell of a adviser. He actually takes care of his fighters.

I can't say the same for the likes of those scumbags like Beltran.
