Comments Thread For: Ishe Smith Targets Peter Quillin, Wants Fall Clash

Middleweight contender Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith was on hand at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino Saturday night to witness Amir Khan's 5th round knock out of Zab Judah. Smith payed particularly close attention to undefeated middleweight Peter "Kid Chocolate" Quillin's (25-0)) 5th round TKO victory over Jason LeHoullier on the undercard. Quillin, who also holds a victory over Jesse Brinkley, has been in the news lately as he has unsuccessfully called out middleweight king Sergio Martinez.

Say what you will about Ishe but the dude is down to fight anyone make it happen would be a good test for Quillin especially if he can stop Smith.

not going to happen. Pirog ducked Smith awhile back and fought Maciel instead, Smith even said he'd go to Russia.

The problem is Ishe Smith is hard to look good against. Quillin isn't going to take a risk like that, I don't care what he says. Roach would never let it happen.

If Quillin needs a real test, "Sour Shay" just isn't it. The Kid Chocolate should be only 1 fight away, at most, from either Chavez Jr. or Martinez. Now being that Freddie Roach trains both Quillin & JCCjr, Martinez makes for the better match up. Regardless of who his opponent will be, he will do the same as the 25 that have been placed before him, TOTAL WRECKAGE.

Do you realize that Quillin has ended careers already? He most likely just ended that last minute fill in's as well. He also ended any hopes or respect anyone had for Tarvis Simms claiming he knew he would beat Quillin yet took his second KO to his Nut-Cup SUPPOSEDLY breaking a rib.

Smith already has 5 losses on a career that is spiraling downward before ever getting a shot to take off. Of his 5 losses, 2 of them come within his last 3 fights and the fight he won was with an opponent that has a 14-8-1 record. Check out The Kid Chocolate's Knockout reel in my profile signature. Smith would have been one of these dudes if he fought Petey within his first 2 years. Now, he would just be another career ended by the nice guy that tosses chocolate's out into the crowd after his victorious bouts!!!

Who has Pirog fought besides Danny Jacobs? Many don't realize that Pirog was behind on all 3 scorecards 39-37 before landing a lucky, but very hard, overhand right counter over Jacobs' left jab in the 5th round.

He's definitely a better fight than Smith. But I'd like to see a South Paw tune up for the Martinez's massacre by Quillin!

Isn't Quillin pretty bigger than Ishe?

Quillin isn't really anywhere near Sergio Martinez, not yet.

1st, he needs to fight at middleweight. all of his fights are at super middleweight which is 161-168.

2nd, he needs to work on his stamina, his mouth was open after 4th round against that tomato can he faced.

3rd, he needs to work on his defense and inside game. being tagged by tomato cans is one thing but being hit by the upper tier middleweights is another.

he'll be there but if he fought Martinez now he'd be destroyed. he needs to stop fighting taxi drivers and tomato cans and fight live bodies.

As I posted earlier, 16 of his now 25 WINS were fought at 162 lbs or less, with 4 of them 160 or less. He can pi$$ & **** out 2 lbs. He walks around Super Middleweight. Many keep talking about Pirog who has only fought an untested Jacobs. (Read earlier post.) Quillin has fought Echols, dubbed by BHop as 1 of the best fighters he ever faced, Brinkley, who couldn't believe his power after 1 round, and Miranda from Columbia when he was ranked top 10 in the world. He went the distance with Miranda that caught him in the 8th but recovered well and won the last 2 rounds convincingly. As far as stamina is concerned, he has an 8 rounder UD and 4 10 rounder UD's. And all this is before Freddie Roach. How about he gets the 1 tune up against a worthy south paw, and then let old man Martinez talk with his fists and not on Twitter. by the way, Quillin knocked him out on Twitter already. This is the only fight anyone in the BOXING SCENE or real boxing fans want to see.
