If he is not ready to face the best he shouldn't be the champion. Being the champion means being the best in the division but this era of multiple belts it has taken a different meaning.

Can't wait to see who is next after Manfredo. I bet between Suliman and Arum they will make up a funky rule or justify another non deserving fighter with a title shot so they can continue to milk Jr
Also remember that Zbik was Martinez' manditory and he was going to fight him but HBO wouldn't approve it. The WBC strips Martinez, gives the belt to Zbik, and then they approve Jr to fight him. They will find a way to let Jr keep that belt.

On top of that. He has a title and still getting passes to duck top fighters? Boxing is sucking big time with this attitude.
Yes I said big enough to take the beating because that's what it would be. Jr makes Paul Williams look like Floyd Mayweather skill wise. He gets crushed, but maybe just on pure size and will he can make it 12 rounds and earn some respect in defeat.

I'm surprised Chavez Jr hasn't stepped out of the shadows and called shots on his career because if I was him. The victories wouldn't mean anything if I couldn't look in the mirror and know that I truly deserved what I worked hard for. How could his pops be proud of this after what Sr contributed to the sport of boxing? If he doesn't want his son to get hurt then he should tell his son to retire but to continue to fight these weak fights and walk around with a title he doesn't deserve, hurts him more than helps him the long run. Jr can walk with his head high and say that his father is Sr but when Jr has a son. what is he going to say when the kids say that his pops is bunns? Boxing has become weak in so many aspects.

LMAO...the duck is in the works. Martinez will brutalize Barker then come for Chavez "El Puto" Jr. and of course the punk will vacate his belt rather than take his beating like a man. Manfrenchfry jr is a scrub and does absolutely nothing for Chumpez's development- I guess they saw how easily he was getting busted up in his last fight so they wanted to take it easy on him.

To suggest Martinez, with his collection of "victories" over cherry-picked cab drivers and 135lb goat-farmers, could hang with Chavez for more than 6 rounds is laughable. Better men than Martinez have tried and failed. Chavez would decimate and retire Martinez; a fact that Sergio is well aware of.

Chavez is the legitimate middleweight champion of the world: Martinez can't be the first, but he can be the next ; you can run Sergio, but you can't hide - 43 have tried and 43 have failed.
                  Dumb. Ass.

That's three curse words right there.
