Julio Cesar Chavez is the baddest man on the planet.

To suggest Martinez, with his collection of "victories" over cherry-picked cab drivers and 135lb goat-farmers, could hang with Chavez for more than 6 rounds is laughable. Better men than Martinez have tried and failed. Chavez would decimate and retire Martinez; a fact that Sergio is well aware of.

Chavez is the legitimate middleweight champion of the world: Martinez can't be the first, but he can be the next ; you can run Sergio, but you can't hide - 43 have tried and 43 have failed.

If he is not ready to face the best he shouldn't be the champion. Being the champion means being the best in the division but this era of multiple belts it has taken a different meaning.

Yeah, you on it. When promoters and broadcasters protect their investments by bypassing top-flight challengers, their fighters are belt-holders, not true champions. I reserve that title only for those who have the appropriate resumes.
