    Freitas coming out of retirement?

Word out of Brazil today is that Acelino “Popo” Freitas could come out of retirement later this year to fight Michael Oliveira in Brazil. He has reportedly verbally agreed in principal, TV Globo has agreed to broadcast, and details are to be negotiated so there’s no signed contract as of yet. Freitas supposedly said, “give me four months to train and I’ll show this kid what boxing is all about.” Team Oliveira believes with 4 months of training with new head coach Orlando Cueller (Glen Johnson’s trainer), Oliveira would be ready. The 36-year-old Freitas hasn’t fought in 4 1/2 years and the highest weight he’s fought at is 139. The weight will probably be a catch at whatever both agree to but probably in the 150s.
