The fact that Vitali was able to come back after such a long layoff due to injury and just pick right up where he left off, and in many ways become a better a more dominant fighter after the layoff, is a remarkable sporting feat and will be recognized as such in the sports history books.

"Both his losses were due to injury in fights he was winning"

If your opponent manages to injure you enough that you can't continue, that pretty much means they won the fight...

So he's unbeatable even though he's been beaten twice and is the greatest 40+ heavyweight ever even though he hasn't fought a fight after 40 yet? That's pretty much flawless logic.

Hes also a gold medalist, even know he got disqualified for steroid use.

He hasn't had a single fight at 40 but if he manages to perform against Adamek like he used to, then you're probably right.

Nevertheless, he was leading on the scorecards and winning both fights handily when they ended.

No-one is dis*****g that he has two losses on his record, but unlike someone like Lennox Lewis, who got knocked cold by two journeymen, Vitali has never been dominated by anyone.

I don't know if he is the best, but he is a damn fine heavyweight and with him pushing 40 I can only take my hat off and admire him. They got some good genetics in that family, no doubt.
He is going to destroy Adamek easily. If he can get Haye under his belt too he will will be ready to head into the sunset locked and loaded.

I love viatli but lets not get ahead of are selves, he hasnt fought at 40 for 1, so whos to say Adamak wont beat him, 2 he hasnt never fought the caliber opponent George or Holmes have faced... nor anyone 6'4 or bigger except old Shannon Briggs which whom he didnt KO).

But this Thread at this point is IRRELAVENT he hasnt fought at 40, nor a worthy Great fighter since Lewis in 2003...

He just turned 40 the other day. How has a man who has yet to win a fight at 40, considered the best 40+ heavyweight of all time

He could probably get there though
