cotto only gets stopped by offensive fighters who attack nonstop.......floyd is far from that..saying floyd would've stopped cotto is baseless and bull****..
Mayweather would have TKO'd Cotto

Probably a bit premature. Ortiz has had one fight at WW against someone who IMO isn't as good as the version of Mosley, Judah, Pacquiao, and Margarito Cotto faced. In a couple years, could definitely be a different story.Comment

Cotto lost 2 out of those 4 fights like I said I like Cotto but he is somewhat overrated. guy has a lot of heart and fought everybody they would but in the ring with him, but its not who you fight its who you beat.Comment

and you think cotto would respect floyds ?.....floyd's offense is just not good enough to keep cotto backpedalling and ****.....and i think it's fair to say that cotto would be the agressor in this fight, and thats when he's more effective.....Comment

Cotto gets love on this board like he's these guys personal lovechilds.
That boy goes into shock when his best punch the jab is inferior to Floyd's jab, which isn't even Floyd's #1 shot.
Miguel The King of a Flawed Stance in Recent Years Cotto was so squared up he would eat jabs to the pit of the belly all night. Miguel already naturally likes to hunch over like Notre Dame, so it'll be even easier for Floyd's pit jab to set up his str8 right down the pipe towards Miguel's poorly guarded face, due to his bad hand placement.
Miguel is the paper face champ, and Floyd is incredibly accurate. Floyd stops him on cuts when he gasses later in the fight like he always does.Comment

I agree, and I still don't see how Ortiz can be considered better than Cotto considering even Cotto's win/loss record at WW. In a couple of years, yea we can make an argument, but regardless of whether or not he's considered overrated by some, his wins at WW still trump what Ortiz has done not only at 147, but quite possibly his entire career in comparison to the competition Ortiz has won against. Andre Berto is his biggest win.Comment

What can Cotto do better than Floyd besides put more power on punches?
Floyd was able to back up a certified iron chinned hero, Mosley, who hits much harder than Cotto. He'd do it easily on Miguel. No one needs a reminder that Shane is the man that had Cotto on his bike for the last few rounds.
His horrible balance means Floyd can clown him with that leaping left hook all night.
The punch that manages to catch Floyd every now and then are rights. Miguel Southpaw Defector Cotto's can't push off hard enough with his submissive feet in the rear to throw any meaningful rights at Floyd.Last edited by GrandpaBernard; 07-19-2011, 11:02 PM.Comment

True I was speaking more on Ortiz potentials then actual accomplishments at WW I think Ortiz would beat Khan and Bradley at welter and that would put him a head of CottoI agree, and I still don't see how Ortiz can be considered better than Cotto considering even Cotto's win/loss record at WW. I actually think this fight would go to the cards but a Floyd vs chavez type TKO would not shock me to be honest I might even put some money on that with decent odd's.
not saying Chavez fights like CottoLast edited by Phenom; 07-19-2011, 11:13 PM.Comment
