Comments Thread For: Marquez Vows: I Will Look To Knock Manny Pacquiao Out!

Marquez was not in great shape when he fought Mayweather, put on far too much weight on far too quickly and Mayweather came in over the agreed limit and outweighed him by about 10lbs on the night.
Against Pacquiao he will be a different animal, comfortable and fast at the weight, not flabbly or slow and Pacquiao and Marquez will be around the same weight.
Not a fight that Pacquiao can take lightly.

He should stick to outboxing him. He's clearly the better boxer just counter him all night and get the decision.
The keys to Marquez beating Pacquiao are:
1) Not letting Pacquiao dictate the pace. This will be almost certainly be Marquez' undoing. Marquez has to first box him and then hurt Pacquiao to earn his respect. Pacquiao has to believe that Marquez has something that will make him think twice about leaping in and out.
2) Marquez has to pick his spots. If Marquez brawls .. and even if he has success doing so ... he has to change it up. He can't fall into thinking that Pacquiao won't find away around a solitary approach.
3) Marquez CANNOT take rounds off. Not just because Manny stays busy, but if Marquez lets this fight go to the cards he can be sure he loses. Arum will grease all the right palms before he let's his golden goose lose any steam ... or money for that matter.
4) Marquez has to hit Manny and make Manny chase him. If he can continuously do this, Manny will be playing catch up. Playing catch up leads to recklessness, which leaves openings.
5) Marquez must do what Ray Leonard did to Hagler: He must make sure that he looks good to the judges. Especially at the end of the rounds. Even if he is hitting arms and shoulders he's got to look like he's bringing it.
I have no doubt that Marquez could pull these keys off, but its unlikely as it goes against the Mexican way of pride fighting.

hahaha,O ,WAIT, marquez wasnt jokin??,he really isnt going to get any KO.
Pac will show how improved he is,marquez is still good, and will make it a toughest fight possible for pac not fighting a floyd, but pac will show his improved defence, his improved attack, his bigger stronger version of him will break down marquez.

I don't even know where to begin...
apart from Mayweather , Marquez is probably the best boxer in the world
yet you're asking if a somewhat small older Lightweight that had his best days at Featherweight could take a punch from power punchers that fight at Junior Middle Weight?
Marquez is a future Hall of Famer ... Cotto is borderline and Margarito isn't
hes a vastly superior boxer than both it isn't even debatable
oh and if they were in his weightclass and he was prime... He would box their ears off
