mike tyson was exciting. he had that aura of invincibility and some people were thinking he's on his way to be the best heavyweight ever at that time.I cant stand fake wrestling, but you got to admit they promote and sell there product well, look at what Chael Sonnen has done in a few years,he got into Anderson Silvas head bad.
You were not amped for every Tyson press conference 95 percent of the time they were better then his fights but fans will always tune in,the sportsmanship in boxing has gone to far i want fighters to hate each other not touch gloves every rd and suck each others ****s at press conferences.
him being unstable mentally didn't draw the fans. its the way he is seen as being invincible and his killer ko'sComment

Nothing. Casual fans are casual fans. They'll always tune in to the big fights. It's always a risk, if it sucks. Oh well move on to the next one. If it's good, then you make alot of new fans.
That's how it works.Comment

you fail to see my point.
that fight was promoted well, managed to draw the casual fans cause of floyd's "trash talking".
yeah, it drew the casual fans but then what? people were actually turned off because floyd says he'll do this, he'll do that and then it turned out to be a multi million sparring match.
my point is, boxing needs more people who are exciting when they fight, not people who talk well outside of it.
characters aren't necessary.Comment
