    LOL!!!!!
It was either forgive and forget or keep collecting dust. I guess that's what happens when u let ur wife play manager/lawyer. Next time Donaire wants to get out of a contract, he should probably let a real lawyer read over it first. All though I hear Rachel watches alot of law and order, so she might get a second chance...

Yes Tua, I didn't think he had said that, that it was a gross exaggeration of what actually WAS said. The whole incident was I think, printed here on BoxingScene, in a rather "word-for-word manner, and it didn't seem to me to be so newsworthy as to cause Donaire to lose a $500,000 already signed fight for which he must already been in training, as well as a guaranteed next fight min of $750,000, before the end of the year. How many bantamweights earn THAT....???

AND, according to the BoxingScene report, it was definitely in response to an uncalled for, derogatory remark from Mrs. Donaire about Mrs. Pacquiao's dressing and clothes taste. So if anyone was at fault, it was Rachel Donaire.

This makes me think that the "apology" was in reality (we'll never get the REAL story) at least a two sided one. Arum is recogniseably sharp enough to know exactly what he was say in ANY remark, but the whole thing was blown out of proportion by Mrs. Donaire, not accepting a "tit-for-tat" matter, but trying to make publicity out of it.

It probably got worse than she wanted, but by then it was too late. Her husband had lost a min.of $1.25 mill guaranteed, as well as his conditioning and instead, had to worry about his uncertainty of future fights and his contract.

I wonder, I don't go to the history section anymore since apparently time stopped in 1967 over there, but I wonder, do they have a code or something over there whenever someone starts a thread either commending a Klitschko or comparing one favorably to past fighters letting them know they all need to head over to the main page to back each other up on their idiotic comments. 10 idiots in agreement doesn't make you right, you understand that. This is factual stuff we are talking about, not voting for president.

                Good point.

But did you notice how Rachel was the one who was personally insulted, and yet she simply brushed it off for the sake of business and Nonito's career.

Not once did she play the " injured party " card, and not once did she seize the opportunity to take a backhand at Arum, even though he was forced to apologise.

Clever girl, that showed smarts and class to me.

I am not interested in Filipino politics, so I am liking this girl more and more.

But yes, family members should not be involved in business together imho.

Apparently she can't decipher a damn contract. Imagine if Donaire went ahead with the May unification bout and lifted the the WBA strap from Moreno to claim 3 of 4 titles at bantam and a ring strap as well. He would be awaiting the Mares/Agbeko winner and probably FOTY.
Smarten up, GBP got caught out because they were inept.

Rachel Donaire is not a lawyer, those issues should have been addressed by GBP's attorneys. When Weinstein made his ruling, he adjudicated between Top Rank and GBP, not Rachel Donaire.
