May: Judah was coming off a loss.

May: Manfredy lost to every top fighter he fought.

Pac: Morales II, Morales was just coming off a loss to Raheem.

Pac: Cotto was the underdog, damaged, almost every one predicted he was gonna get stopped and that's exactly what happened. Also coming off a poor performance against Clottey.

Pac: Margarito wasn't even a top 10 WW, or top 10 JMW.

Pac: De La Hoya hadn't fought at 147 in 10 years and wasn't a top 10 WW.

Pac: Mosley was coming off two poor performances.

Best performances from each fighter, against actual top fighters who were actually good/still had something left at the time:

Mayweather: Corrales, Hernandez, Hatton, Mosley, Castillo II
Pacquiao: Barrera I, Hatton, Clottey, Solis
For Pac: I would disagree with omitting Marquez II and putting Cotto in the "shot" category. He didn't look great against Clottey (nobody does, besides Pac) but he didn't look terrible either. I think the first half of the Pac fight showed he was very game, it's just his chin couldn't hold up yet again. Almost everyone picked him to be stopped? What? Odds favored Pacquiao, but if anything many boxing experts figured it would be very competitive.

I would categorize him closer "neutral win" rather than a good or bad one, along with something like Mayweather/Mosley. Mosley was inactive, overtrained, and somewhat close to the version that fought Pac IMO. People bought into the hype too much of a great win that was already 1.5 years old by the time he fought Mayweather in his next fight. Not a bad win, but not a great one either.

People bought in to the Mayweather vs Mosley fight because Mosley was coming off two TKO wins and was the 147 Lineal Champion.

Pacquiao didn't beat Marquez in the second fight, let alone dominate him enough for me to call it one of his best performances. Oscar still had something left in the tank when he fought Floyd at 154, but notice I didn't mention him that's because that wasn't one of Floyd's best performances IMO.

Who are these experts? I'm far from an expert and i'm pretty bad at predictions and I predicted Pacquiao would stop Cotto, so I think I should start my career as a boxing expert. Looking good in the first 6 rounds, suffering 2 knock downs and losing at least 5 of 6 rounds, that's not game, that's getting wiped out en route to a stoppage.

My favorite Floyd and Pac fights are the ones I saw live, Floyd-Chico was a masterful performance, I was not a Floyd fanboy at the time, I saw no way this lil dude is going to beat Chico. I was pulling for Diego cause I thought Floyd was a rotten human being for saying he's dedicating the fight to battered women everywhere, that was a low blow. I didn't realize the brilliance, Floyd was breaking Chico down mentally before even stepping in the ring. And what happened was unreal, best performance I ever saw live.

My fav Pac is vs Mab, again I was wrong, I thought this would be an easy opponent for MAB. My uncle watched a few rounds and said "that asian is going to best him". Said his movement was way too fluid, sporadic, herky jerky. Said MAB is too slow to handle it, I didn't believe it so was stunned when Pac stopped him. And unlike his current performances, the specter of PEDs had yet to enter the fray. So I was able to enjoy Pac more back then. With him not wanting to test, its hard for me to enjoy his fights now.

The title says best performances, not best wins, it says nothing about best performances against legit top fighters at their best. So for all I care I could add Mosley, Corrales, Castillo II, Hatton, Hernandez, Gatti, Manfredy, Ndou, Sosa, Judah, Corley, Chavez, Burton, for Mayweather cause those were all great perfroamnces. And I can add Barrera 2x, Morales 2x, DLH, Clottey, Cotto, Margarito, Hatton, Solis, Diaz, Larios, 3K Battery for Pacquiao.

But i'm making my own rules, adding who the fighters were at the time because a great performance for me makes it great because off who the fighter is and how good they were at the time. Otherwise Lucian Bute has the best and most dominating performance this year if we're not caring who the fighter is at the time of the "great" performance.

Pacquiao: The Marg fight. It was a joy watching Manny pound that cheating rat ****'s face in. Good times.

Mayweather: Emmanuel Augustus. Mayweather was a freakin beast in that fight. If he fought like he did in that fight for his whole career, there's no doubt that he would be much more loved by the public.

Pac vs Cotto... He shook with that 1. This little featherweight dominating a welterweight WITH EASE... I mean, sure he could have won, and sure it could have been 1-sided, but I expected a boxing lesson at best... He destroied him

Floyd vs Mosley/Corrales... Its a tie, and if u saw the fights, u know why they're here... What can be said?
