This is a generalization but an observation I have made of a few world class fighters in recent years. Miguel Cotto was arguably better before the tattoos, same with Shane, same with Kirkland, and Tyson before them (facial tattoo). Now before you think tats don’t mean shit I’m only saying in my observation it’s like these guys are getting ink done to intimidate the other guy because their skills have eroded. Maybe I’m wrong here but I doubt anyone can 100% prove that Shane, Cotto, Kirkland, etc were all better pre-tats.
Are tattoos a sign a fighter is slipping?

Depends, 98% of Tattoos I see are pure garbage and I wonder why these clowns even get them, almost as bad as the tribal tats that guys get.
To me when I see a dude/boxer with a bunch of tats that are all tribal/****** words and other ****** crap I view them as complete idiots with a low IQ.
If its a full sleeve or a full back piece that tells a story its a diffirent matter. but thats the 2%. Usually these morons get a few tribal tats, a few ****** words, maybe a bible verse, and some other horrible tattoos, but hey its your body, You will lolz when you are 60 and have THUG LIFE written across your chest as you lie in a hospital.
Oh, and why do dudes with dark dark skin get tattoos? Its not like you can see them.Comment

No. A tattoo can be a sign of many things. To get attention. To cover up insecurities. To show respect. etcetc. Some people might just like them because to them it looks cool.
To me it doesn't look cool at all and I don't like tattoos period. At the same time I wouldn't disrespect anyone who has them.Comment
