Shame how that fight cause both fighters to go downhill steeply. They aren't world class fighters anymore at their respective weights. If they were to face Martinez... they would get killed.

I hope that Cotto gets some payback but Margarito might very well be a broken fighter and quite frankly I don't think deserves the paydays he has gotten for his cheating.
It has the aura bubbling under the surface...around September, we'll be seeing the big promotion push with nothing but highly produced highlights from the first fight and key snippets of interviews, plastergate and other things. **** is going to get wild, I can't wait

Also, if this does not have a 24/7 or a showtime equivalent, I'll be disappointed. That fightcamp crap is useless. We need to see some real hate being recorded with voice overlay by Liev Schrieber

1.) Manny was 100% positive that Margarito knew about the loaded wraps

2.) Freddie was 100% positive that Margarito knew about the loaded wraps

3.) Freddie stated that when he was preparing Manny for the Margarito fight, he reviewed many of Margarito's previous tapes and Roach stated that he could tell which of those previous fights that Tony had used loaded gloves. He said the punch landed differently, and he named Cotto and Cintron, among others.

4.) A number of wildcard fighters have sparred Margarito, some say that he has no effective power, and some say that he hits like a mule. WTF?

5.) During one of Margarito's fights I watch his opponents head literally bounce off his fists, it looked extremely unnatural, the last two punches thrown in that fight made Margarito look like he had lethal ko power in both hands

6.) He fractured Rashid Holloway's eye socket in a sparring session, one of only two times that Roach has seen a training injury like that during his entire career

7.) Margarito has had no KO power whatsoever since the Mosley fight, he even had to resort to movement to keep Garcia off him

8.) Cotto will be extremely well-prepared for that fight, and doesnt look to have lost as much as Margarito

Based on the above, I am picking that Margarito's gloves were definitely loaded in that fight, so Cotto will simply not be facing the same Margarito.

      Cotto beats a wrap-less Margarito UD12.

I suppose that I should put my money where my mouth is.

400k to the first taker, and my only bet on that fight. Anyone interested?

Oh, I posted about Freddie's comments previously and got swamped by requests for links, etc. I mean Roach's comment that when preparing Manny and reviewing the Margarito fight tapes, he could pick which fights Margarito used loaded wraps.

The answer is yes, I can supply a link, but not right now, because I am at work. I cant find a thing on the internet, but I have the link bookmarked at home. If I forget, just remind me
I threw a fishing line out there but nobody has responded, unfortunately.

I don't know if Cotto wins again or not, I just believe that he ISN'T getting stopped again.

If anybody wants a free million points, hit me up...

Damn right, Schrieber is the man.

"When we last saw Margarito, he was on the short end of a brutal fight...against the pound-for-pound king, Manny Pacquiao. Now, with no other choice, he embarks on one last attempt to redeem, not only his career, but his image..."

          *Show clips of Cotto-Margarito I*

"When we last saw these two together in the ring in 2008, the fight left Cotto brutally battered and bloodied, suffering the first loss of his career in what was a fight of the year candidate living up to fans' expectations..."

          *Show Cotto kneeling*

Lampley: "The punishment...has accumulated to the point where Cotto has nothing left!"

"Now, among the speculation, anticipation, and tension that the fight will produce...Cotto and Margarito will meet again...one to emphasize his previous victory, the other...for vengeance..."

          GOD!!! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

this fight is HUGE.... the hype before the fight would be amazing and you have the actual fight to back up the hype unlike recent matches (HAYE). Not only you have Mexico vs PR rivalry, if that wasn't enough add in the speculation about Margarito's hand wraps in the Cotto fight and you have real bad blood. Don't really have a horse in this race but it would be nice for Cotto to exact revenge because that first fight would've ****ed up his psyche.

I never could say for sure if Margarito cheating for the Cotto fight or not but definitely possible considering when Cotto was getting hit that the HBO commentators said that the impact of the punches were unreal. With that said, Cotto didn't fight smart because with his level of boxing skill over Margarito, he could have definitely beaten him in a UD over 12 rounds if he would have stopped Margarito momentum and found a way to sit on his punches by getting to the body with his best punch but he didn't. Maybe if Margarito did indeed cheat. Getting hit by a hardened substance would discourage Cotto because of the pain but Magarito did bust Cotto's nose in like the 2nd or 3rd round (forgot which one) but know it was early in the fight and as stated. It takes a lil bit before the substance hardens up. BUT Margarito did knock a fighters ear half off ( Sebastian Lujan). Very su****ious but Cotto didn't study Margarito at all because he fought to Margarito's advantage by backing up and giving Margarito time to recover and jog towards him. when I saw Margarito/Cintron 2 and Cotto/Gomez. I knew Margarito would beat Cotto because I called it right after. Will see what Emmanuel Steward can do with Cotto's style against Margarito but am thinking Cotto can win if he is not shook off the pressure.

Nice narration. Allow me to contribute my thoughts on this. Granting without accepting that Marg’s gloves were loaded in the first fight, I still think the plaster less Margarito will still prevail in the rematch.
                    Here is why…

                    1. The fight at 154 will definitely favor the bigger man Margarito. I honestly don’t understand why Cotto’s camp would agree to this weight class.

                    2. Style wins fight as they always say, and I have always been articulating even before the first fight that Margarito’s style is bad news for Cotto because he lacks the footwork to avoid pressure fighters. Cotto got decent footwork but not good enough to evade pressure fighters that knows how to cut.

                    3. There are quite a number of relentless pressure fighters in boxing history but few throw them in volume similar to Margarito. Even fewer can throw those uppercuts with such authority and accuracy. Tony was landing uppercuts to Cotto’s chin and body with regularity in their first fight. Hell, he was repeatedly landing them too against Pacquiao.

                    4. This battle is going to be a career defining fight for these two warriors. Both will therefore, train thoroughly hard for this match. However, in the stamina department Margarito has the advantage. If the same Margarito in the pac fight enters the ring in the rematch, Cotto will have a long night

                    5. This is the indefinable portion but I think one of the most important factors in this fight… HEART. We know who got the advantage here.

I suppose too that I have to put my money where my mouth is so I accept your challenge but would propose instead a higher bet… my 1M against your 1M…. Sig it and we have a deal.
