Grate post, I agree with modt of what you said and would go even further to say that the fight with cotto actually took a lot out of Cheato. While he did beat cotto he actually took a lot of punishment in doing so. I mean llok at his face at the end of the fight. Since the first fight cotto has looked a lot better than cheato.

Cotto didn't impress me at all against Mayorga, eventhough Mayorga is somewhat of a pressure fighter, he's sloppy and very predictable. The fact that Mayorga was able to make Cotto unconfortable at points, only reasure my statements.

Manny Steward knows what Margarito can do to Cotto that's why he always says it's an unconfortable fight, a difficult fight.

Come December whether the fight is at Las Vegas or NY, they better use a bigass ring.
well said bro.. Steward wont do a damn thing..

Margarito is going to beat Cotto down again. Cotto is only a shell of his former self. He has only been in there with stiffs like yuri foreman and mayorga of late. He should retire after this beating. Cotto can't handle pressure fighters like Margarito, loaded gloves or not.

I have to laugh when Cotto fans say that he has shown improvements with Steward. He's a legendary trainer but both him and Garcia have two old dogs with them so I don't see Cotto or Marg doind anything different that they did in the first fight.

Sometimes boxing fans over complicate the sport as if it's rocket science. The truth is, we know that Cotto's best chance is to box and Marg's best chance is to pressure.

Cotto looked better against Yuri Foreman and Ricardo Mayorga. One B level fighter and the other a way past his prime brawler. His last notable fight vs Joshua Clottey was very close and Cotto was hit a lot by a guy who doesn't throw half as much as Margarito does. He was also hit a lot by Mayorga. Cotto doesn't move nearly as much as he did before.

Margarito on the other hand is fighting at a much more comfortable weight than he was before. 154lbs is going to make him even stronger and bigger than before and as far as you say looking more sluggish, I saw no difference in him when he was in there with Pac. He was non stop for 12 rounds against Pac.

Marg wears him down and beats him the same way again.

I'm sure it will be a great fight again, I can't wait for this one. This is a crossroads fight really don't you think? when they met the first time it was a great match up, both were at the "prime" of their careers and were really "fan-favorite" type fighters.

A lot has happened since then but I feel both are in the same sort of place in their careers even though cotto has a "belt". Deep down inside, I want cotto to get his revenge.

                      ??

Have you seen Margarito's last three fights without the powder of Plaster?

                      Have you?

And if you were a bit brighter you would know that loaded wraps are banned for a reason. You would not be able to say something so slow like " loaded wraps or not." Loaded is a BIG difference.

Pressure alone in the absence of that extra face breaking/nos busting impact you know... Wraps is not quite the same son.

Keep it in perspective. Cotto's nose was a factor from round 2. There was a headbutt in round 2 and the ref acknowledge it and said "watch those heads!"

My point: Unless Margarito can find a way to cheat either by headbutt to face, or wraps... Cotto does not GAS out in the 11th round and gets en easy decision over the idiot who does not feel punches to his face.
