Lucian Bute, 29-0 (24) just dominated and KO'd mandatory challenger Jean Paul Mendy, 29-1-1 (16) last weekend, and is now set to face Kelly Pavlik in November, provided Kelly Pavlik, 37-2 (32) beats Darryl Cunningham, 23-2 (10) in August.

Lucian Bute is boxing's best KO artist at the moment, having scored expolsive highlight reel KOs of Alejandro Berrio, Edison Miranda, Librado Andrade, Fulgencio Zuniga, JP Mendy.

Comparing Lucian Bute to guys like Andre Ward and Tavoris Cloud using common opponents, we can see that Bute has performed much better. For Ward, Edison Miranda (Bute KO'd in 3, Ward won a competitive decision) and Sakio Bika. For Cloud, Fulgenzio Zuniga (Bute brutally KO'd in 4, Cloud won a close decision).

Lucian Bute probably has the best 1punch power in boxing, and thats why he scores so many amazing KOs for 3 or 4 years consistently.

Kelly Pavlik is coming off an MD win, and needs to beat Darryl Cunnningham in Youngstown for this fight to come off. Should be an easy win for Kelly. Kelly's career hit a high point with KO wins over Jermain Taylor and Edison Miranda, but hit lows following losses to BHop and Sergio Martinez, as well as subsequent injuries and alcohol addiction.

Kelly Pavlik at his best is a strong puncher, who can be a bit slow and robotic at times. Pavlik's defense and slowness are his downfalls.

Personally I think Bute is way too fast, slick, and precise for Pavlik.

But also has phenomenal boxing ability and 1punch KO power.

Bute will totally outbox Pavlik and then KO him in rounds 8 or 9. That is my prediction.

Pavlik will get KTFO.

I like Kelly, but Bute is the man. A boxer-puncher in his prime, best body puncher in the sport. Bute by KO.

lol, No way man.

I like and respect Pavlik. His wins over Miranda and Taylor were amazingly exciting and helped give boxing a revival in 2007.

But Pavlik's best days are wayyyy behind him, and now he is a shell of his former self.

I see Pavlik taking a lot of punihsment in this fight and getting KO'd badly.

I also think, even at his best in 2007, Pavlik still loses to Bute.

Bute is too fast, technical, and powerpunching.

Bute will KTFO Pavlik.

Shame the Kess fight fell through. I'll be watching this fight with interest but pavlik's nothing special over 160lbs, Bute should dominate this one and win via stoppage.
