  • Comments Thread For: Marquez's Trainer: Pacquiao Too Tough For Mayweather

During a recent interview with scribe Scoop Malinowski, Mexican trainer Ignacio “Nacho” Beristain gave his opinion on a possible fight between welterweight superstars Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Nacho's main fighter, Juan Manuel Marquez, lost lopsided twelve round decision to Mayweather in 2009. He did much better against Pacquiao, going to a draw in 2004 and losing a controversial split decision in 2008. Marquez and Pacquiao will clash for a third time on November 12.

It's obvious the fight can go either way, but the safest bet is Floyd by decision win. Floyd's not the most likable person in the world but the way he boxes make it very hard for fighters to land anything on him. Pacquiao's also improved his defense aswell with his footwork. We can kind of see something similar to Calzaghe/Hopkins fight. Where its very very boring.

Scared Floyd's Had 3 Years To Sign With Pacquiao!

He opted for a smaller, one dimensional, lead with your chin Marquez, a 37 year old Mosley (and almost got KO'd in 2), and a smaller Ortiz, who just got dismantled by Maidana. Floyd certainly didn't want any part of Maidana, and has avoided Pacquiao at all cost. Now as Pacquiao has agreed to random testing by the WADA, watch Floyd's next problem be with it not being his drug testing authority of choice (USADA), another stall tactic. It's funny isn't it that Dela Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, and Marquez and Morales waiting their shot at Manny have had NO problem or concerns over Pacquiao and drug testing before or after their losses to Manny, or as they wait for a shot to fight Pacquiao...EXCEPT Runaway Floyd, who absolutely doesn't want to get in the ring with Manny, no matter how much he runs his mouth for his own image control. Why is Floyd the ONLY one scared?!!?

yes, the fight might become boring....but the outcome may be as exciting as a toss coin....

however, i do not think nacho says pac will win just so nacho disliked floyd....

believe nacho is too much of a veteran to cloud his pick with his feelings toward a fighter..

not saying he could not be wrong though....

many predictions, even by experts fell short

JMM picked Floyd to win.. I'll value the opinion of the guy who actually fought them both a little more tho.. Nacho > Roach
