And if you add a December match up 4 fights in 14 months, making him the most active Champion, as far as the amount of fights in 14 months go, in ANY weight division. That's FAR from taking "long breaks".
Yeah, I guess when you put it that way. The problem is just the way the matches are spread out so it feels long. When he fought Dizinziruk it was only 3 months after PWill, which is an amazingly shortly break so that's kind of an anomaly. By the time he fights Barker though, it will have been 7 whole months since his last fight. Dibella and Martinez have stated their next fight after Barker would take place on March. This means a five month break after the Barker fight in October. So he would only be fighting 2 fights in a year if he doesn't fight Chavez in December.

when montiel was champ he did that in 2010..fought 4 times,it could have been five but he got hurt after the concepcion fight and waited until december to fight again,he was planning on fighting i think in september....thats how i like it when champs fight often,5 is too much but 4 is great, not 2 like pac does

              chavez is gonna get murdered

Chavez needs to avoid this one or suffer an ass whoopin. Chavez is getting better but he'll never be on that elite level like Martinez.

Wasn't Veneno Rubio the mandatory challenger? I thought he had won an eliminatory vs David Lemieux

                      Man oh man.

Chavez Jr is going to get seriously hurt if this goes through. 43 Pro fights and the kid still can't slip a punch to save his life.
