Comments Thread For: Jhonny Gonzalez: I'm Still Going After Yuriorkis Gamboa

WBC featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez has vowed to continue his pursuit of Yuriorkis Gamboa. Gonzalez returned to action on Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. He knocked out challenger Tomas Villa in four rounds, and broke the challenger's jaw in the process. Gonzalez, trained by Nacho Beristain, wants a shot at Gamboa, although the Cuban's camp has publically revealed that Gonzalez's team rejected a six figure deal for a September 10 clash. Gamboa will now likely face Daniel Ponce De Leon on the date.

Should have taken the fight when he had the chance...I don't want to see Gamboa pummel De Leon for 6 rounds. This would actually be an interesting fight.

Indeed if only he had a jaw he would be unstopable

I prefer Gamboa vs De Leon because De Leon's chin is stronger and Gonzales would probably get KOed with the first left hook that Gamboa lands.

Out of those 18 you have to take salido and Gonzalez because the real champ at 126 lbs is Gamboa, Canelo and Chavez were given the belts so 2 more out that list
