1000% relevant. Rios is 1000% American and he was the victor last night.
Neither fighter was Mexican (or fully Mexican) Your argument is invalid.Comment

What are you talking about? They're from Mexican heritage and that's great, but they're not mexican fighters; they're American.
I don't get what's the problem? Who cares either way! Last nights bout between them is what boxing should be.Comment

Based on the U.S. census system of ethnic classification, they would be Hispanic/Latino. But that's a flawed classification in and of itself.
Funny how the Ukraine has no problem claiming the Klitschko's or put an emphasis on their Central Asian ancestry even though they weren't born in the Ukraine, and aren't ethnic Ukranians (or even Europeans) But it's supposedly an issue for American boxing fans to claim American boxers like Rios, Ortiz, De La Hoya etc. who were born and raised in the U.S. and are American citizens.
But i guess this has to do with the fact that the Ukraine dosen't have race-baiting jagoffs like Bob Arum as boxing promoters.Comment
