How can people say Paul would duck Lara when the main fight he wants most is Martinez? Like really trolls?

PW needs to go to ESPN and work his way back.

      He wasn't ready for Lara.

Kotelnik beat the crap out of Alexander and was robbed.

Matthysse beat both Judah and Alexander and was robbed.

Lara destroyed Williams and was robbed.

America: new home of the boxing robbery!

Off topic here, but I seriously do think Sergio Martinez is so over rated who has he beat lost to non skill Antonio Margarito, Beat Kelly Pavlik who was never the same since Hopkins took him to skool and lastly this thread says it all about Williams.

IMHO Mayweather would be his tutor for the night and Pacquiao would smash him for a home run. (Aint fan of Pac or FMJ)

There's no need for a rematch like theres no need for a martinez rematch

Here we have williams in the late rounds with his face blood splashed on his stool, announcers contemplating whether the fight should be stopped.had laras had more pop it would of been timber all over again.i saw flashbacks of that martinez punch being set up all night.

I agree to a point. Paul did look quite normal in terms of his athleticism, energy, and focus. I can't say he lost that fight because of his KO to Martinez; well, not entirely.

See, that's the only thing I disagree with- unfortunatley I don't think Lara is the only guy out there with the talent to do that to the Punished. The reason I think we can blame Sergio for this is, honestly, he made a glaring exclamation point on the sentence others had been repeating for awhile; that Paul's defense is severly lacking, he really only has the ability to keep coming forward and throwing, and his height is almost a disadvantage because he doesn't use it.

Martinez laid out a gameplan. Paul, during the build up to this fight insisted him and his trainer weren't going to change a thing; and that's true. He's showing he's a one-trick pony, at least with this guy in his corner, and that he has no plan B, or C - A is what he has and he'll come, like he said, ready to fight a tough, full 12 doing exactly what he's always done.

The difference is, in the past, lesser fighters or those without the authorotative confidence of knowing exactly what to do to beat the Punished, would let Paul get off first, walk them down, pressure them. That's the only reason his fights haven't all looked like the Lara beating.

Paul "The Punished" Williams gave me many entertaining fights and for that I respect him. He's was humble, had a great attitude in the ring and work ethic, but unfortunatley his loyalty has him keeping a trainer and style that is a failure, has been proven lacking, and I think- at this point- has already caused his downfall.

R.I.P. Paul "the Punisher" Williams. I hope you surprise me and learn some new tactics or we'll always see him as the tall, lanky guy who went to sleep with his eyes open against Maravilla, and then got his ass spanked for a few more fights before hanging 'em up.

So, yeah, he looked like he always did- I agree- painfully so, but he didn't succeed like he once had because it's really all he brings to the table.

Sergio did KO the bum Williams with a lucky punch; no way he'll be lucky with Lara.

Lara showed how to use his left fist a thousand times on Paul's face. Lara didn't need luck to repeatedly bomb Williams.

Lara will expose Martinez. Sergio Martinez is already thinking of an alibi on how to duck Lara right now.

1st of all, I know this ain't no article for some english class & u'r not getting graded on this, but at LEAST try to put periods & question marks where they belong, this way it makes it easier to figure out what u wrote & what u mean.. But Martinez¿Overrated? Martinez lost to Margarito early in his career cause he got tired & was taking too many unanswered punches against the ropes & the ref stopped it & that was 11 years ago..Kelly Pavlik lost to Hopkins cause Hopkins was too slick & gave him a boxing lesson, but Pavlik did NOT take a brutal beating in that fight that would damage or change him for ever..So Martinez did beat a legitimate, good & solid middleweight world champion(the Ring magazine Middleweight champion at the time) to earn that title & before the fight Pavlik was the heavy favorite..& in Martinez's last 5 fights he beat a more active & up to date Kermit Cintrón(not the rusty Cintrón that got beaten last night) & beat him twice(by KO & by decision) in 1 night & Martinez got robbed by the ref & judges by declaring it a draw & then he fought Williams(who most fighters were avoiding at the time)& lost by decision in a close fight that a lot of people(including Myself)thought Martinez won, then beat Kelly Pavlik & then fought Williams again & annihilated Williams in 2 rounds(something no one to date has done yet) & then fought unbeaten & tested world champion Serhiy Dzinziruk, who is a solid fighter with good skills & had never been down(not even as an amateur) & Martinez NOT only was beating Dzinziruk at his own boxing game, but knocked Dzinzuruk down 5 times(the ONLY 5 times Dzinziruk has been down in his life!) & won by KO!! He has taken on some top dogs in his last 4 fights & has beaten them all & that's NOT the resume of an overrated fighter..U want to see overrated fighters, take a good look at Julio Cesar Chavez jr's & Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's records..
