This post is perfect.
In No Ceilings' thread I called robbery right before the decision. I've seen worse robberies.. Remember the Guzman/Funeka robbery last year or year before? It is what it is and this fight will not affect the foundations of boxing. This will be forgotten just like the previously mentioned fight and everybody will be over this by next week.Last edited by Gordon Gekko; 07-10-2011, 12:01 AM.Comment

I thought Mattysse won both fights, i can see where someone can see it the other way though. That being said, The scorecards for the fight tonight were a joke and a insult to the sport of boxing. If you cant see that i dunno.Comment

And yet you run around wondering why people talk **** about boxing being bull****? When the sport has no credibility, it's foundations are being shaken. Consider yourself smarter now. Do you honestly believe Boxing in it's current state is nearly as popular as it was 20 years ago? It's got little to do with all of the belts/weight divisions. Boxing and Corruption go hand in hand, and now with the internet/social media, **** like this will start to rumble louder and for longer periods of time, whether you like it or not. This post is perfect.

Robberies have happened way longer than the last 20 years. Sorry to bust your bubble, maybe you're new to boxing, but this WILL not shake the foundations of boxing. Are you ******ed? Yes, it sucks, yes something should be done, yes it's bad for the sport, but can you really say with a straight face that Paul Wiliams vs Erislandy Lara on HBO boxing after dark is going to change the foundations of boxing??And yet you run around wondering why people talk **** about boxing being bull****? And no I don't run around wondering why people talk **** about boxing and that boxing is bull****. I know why and it's not just because of bad decisions. In fact the main problem in boxing is getting super fights put together and then living up to the hype when they finally are put together: ex: Haye vs Klitschko.. That was worse for boxing than a robbery on HBO.. And yes alot of it has to do with the excess weight divisions and meaningless titles. It's too much for the average sports fan to keep up with. Not to mention that the heavyweight division is lackluster. It's all these things. Not just robberies.
Again, I assure you that the foundations of boxing will not be effected by this fight. Sadly, this will all be forgotten soon and everyone will be back to being a "fan" when Khan and Zab square off.Comment
