First I want to say I thought Roy Max and Bob did an amazing job last night..Esp Roy,I watch that fight with people who are casual fans of the sport and I believe everyone at my place was very scared and concern for Paul myself included..I thought they did a great job of making it clear they did not condone the beating he was taking...They also made it a point to keep saying that Paul should hang um up,and they also exposed that wack azz trainer who just was all so ******..Paul corner was the worst yesterday, they did not give any instruction on how not to get hit with those solid punches and they let him take maybe a life shorten beating for no reason..I tip my hat to the HBO team great job fellas..
Now on to this very clear and bad decision, this is what's wrong with boxing..First you have Devon vs Kottie which imo was a robbery, then you have Devon vs Matt's which I did not feel was a robbery but it diff felt like a hometown decision..Now this, like I said I had a lot of casual fans of the sport and everyone in my house was sad about the beating Paul took...Then was sad how Lara(poor bastard)was robbed when he clearly won the fight..This is why boxing is losing so many fans, and tbh it's something that needs to stop..Boxing needs a real comm or somebody who is gonna step in here..What happen yesterday on all sides of the ball was tragic and disappointing...

at first i was concerned that Pwill was actually too big for lara to even be in the ring with him....it looked like a complete physical mismatch.....but as the fight went on, it was very apparent that Lara had NO fear of PWill, and he continually landed that overhand left hand bomb on Pwill's dome..and in my humble opinion deserved to have been given the decision last night, once i heard that 1st score of 114-114 i knew Lara was in trouble, best i hoped for after hearing that was a DRAW, but unfortunately PWill was given an early XMAS gift....
Pwill is very very lucky he wasnt in there with a bigger puncher last night, as he looked very vulnerable, and likely would have been seriously hurt......HIs style of fighting last night was terrible, all those pity pat no power punches were quite UNIMPRESSIVE, and if he thinks he merits a rematch with Martinez after that perfromance he is sadly mistaken, all he's looking for is another payday...
HBO basically said he's looking for a few more fights so he can retire early and manage his properties.....Hey PWill you don't need your brain matter scrambled any further please RETIRE NOW.......Martinez will KILL you in a rematch...don't do it....

I agree to a point. Paul did look quite normal in terms of his athleticism, energy, and focus. I can't say he lost that fight because of his KO to Martinez; well, not entirely.
See, that's the only thing I disagree with- unfortunatley I don't think Lara is the only guy out there with the talent to do that to the Punished. The reason I think we can blame Sergio for this is, honestly, he made a glaring exclamation point on the sentence others had been repeating for awhile; that Paul's defense is severly lacking, he really only has the ability to keep coming forward and throwing, and his height is almost a disadvantage because he doesn't use it.
Martinez laid out a gameplan. Paul, during the build up to this fight insisted him and his trainer weren't going to change a thing; and that's true. He's showing he's a one-trick pony, at least with this guy in his corner, and that he has no plan B, or C - A is what he has and he'll come, like he said, ready to fight a tough, full 12 doing exactly what he's always done.
The difference is, in the past, lesser fighters or those without the authorotative confidence of knowing exactly what to do to beat the Punished, would let Paul get off first, walk them down, pressure them. That's the only reason his fights haven't all looked like the Lara beating.
Paul "The Punished" Williams gave me many entertaining fights and for that I respect him. He's was humble, had a great attitude in the ring and work ethic, but unfortunatley his loyalty has him keeping a trainer and style that is a failure, has been proven lacking, and I think- at this point- has already caused his downfall.
R.I.P. Paul "the Punisher" Williams. I hope you surprise me and learn some new tactics or we'll always see him as the tall, lanky guy who went to sleep with his eyes open against Maravilla, and then got his ass spanked for a few more fights before hanging 'em up.
So, yeah, he looked like he always did- I agree- painfully so, but he didn't succeed like he once had because it's really all he brings to the table.

judges needde money ...
they should kill the mother****ers and **** their wife. You don't do such a thing to a guy that works his ass of training like lara did. This is the biggest robbery in boxing. nitramzaid@hotmail.com

I'll go ahead and appease your ****** comments: 1) Boxers get paid more than MMA fighters, 2) UFC in particular has the same fat slob's except this one is bald and named Dana White, 3) Yes BOXING is a great sport so why don't you go post on some UFC website about two dudes spooning and winging club punches at each other.

But yeah... all combat sports have their problems with judges. It's apart of the game, unfortunately.
Lara was definitely robbed, though, but at least he was still able to show he's a force to be reckoned with at Jr. Middleweight. I just hope this decision doesn't affect his motivation or anything like that, and only makes him hungrier.
