Comments Thread For: The Experts Decide - Paul Williams vs. Erislandy Lara

A nearly 6-foot-3 southpaw who has fought as a welterweight, junior middleweight and middleweight, Paul Williams is looking to prove that he still is deserving of his "Punisher" nickname, this despite having been blasted into unconciousness in the second round of November's rematch with southpaw Argentinian former Sergio Martinez, a man Williams had beaten by majority decision in December of 2009.

I got Lara by decision. I can see a scenario where Dhalsim stops him like he did Andy Kolle though.

Can't say I disagree with the "experts." Fighting P. Will this early in his career is a gutsy move by Lara and his team. I'm hoping for an upset, but I've got the "Punisher" by UD.

Williams will beat him up soundly. It will look like the Winky fight but ending in a stoppage.

13/8 for this not to go the distance. Good odds?

Interesting to see not many people are willing to wager against Pwill even after his loss. Dougie picks Lara, but basically says its a toss up and he's rooting for the underdog.

Williams has got to deliver tonight.

For me it all depends on P-Dub. If it is the Pdub of old he wins on activity alone. But how damaged is he? People may say "People get knocked out it happens." But really that was a truly devestating KO. It takes one hell of a man to recover from that fully and be the same in his next bout.

I feel the same Cuban, rooting for Lara but I still like Pwill and expect him to win.
