If Every fighter had the balls and fought as hard as Hatton both in terms of who he fought and how he fought Boxing would be in a far better position than it is. How many people have fought 3 top 10 P4P fighters in the last 20 years? Not many I would expect.

He was Ring 140 Champion for nigh on a half a decade and fought the No1 contender for that 3 times, winning twice. please explain that is over rated?

What? Haye for starters is way more overhyped. Hatton had some good wins (Kostya, Castillo) and only lost to the best.

most of Hatton's fans (the football supporting, drunk white van drivers) are a total waste of space. I don't particularly like Khan's fans either.

In fact, anyone who follows around another man like a hungry cat has problems in my view but I digress.

Hatton was an average world class fighter but definitely short of elite status in my eyes. He was lucky to beat a fading KT and operated at the top of a weak division.

He's done his time in the ring, became and reigned as a champ. Fought some good fighters, solid opponents and was a solid fighter himself. Let's not drag his name through this whole 'over hyped' BS
