I rewatched the fight.......and once you take out the anticipation factor that you get when watching it "Live" the fight is actually pretty dull.
For the first 2 rounds both boxers are guilty of "shadow boxing" and throw no punches that axtually land.
The 3 round is by far the best where box boxers engage in a brief but meaningful exchange.........If the rest of the fight had been like round 3 then it would have been a good fight.........but as we know it sadlydidn't pann out that way.
If you watch many of the rounds closely, many of Haye's attacks either miss or are only glancing blows......and look far more spectatcular than they actually are.
Wlad for his part did score more punches than Haye.......but his punch count wasn't that great either,
The final round was inevitable going to have more action than the than of the figfht put together bar round 3.....as each man went looking for the elusive KO that BOTH boxers said they would deliver.
Haye simply didn't throw nearly enough punches......banking on a single lucky pot to Ko Wlad.
Wlad for his part was more disciplined sticking to his jab......but he didn't exactly push the boat out to get the KO either.....there were no surprises....no upper cuts or crosses to trap Haye with.
A rematch........no thanks....Wlads effective but boring.......and Haye against the Klitschkos and Valuevs of this world adopts an unattractive "Hit and run"
tactic.
If Haye stood his ground and fought it would have the makings of good fight.......but Haye hasn't got the skills or courage of Holyfield to take the figfht to the bigger man.
