I really thought the WBA was going to do the right thing and just leave the "regular" championship vacant, at least for a while. ****ing scum.

    Klitschko is the champion, period.

Chagaev was an underrated fighter in his day but he's past it, Hep B, etc.

However, since Haye would never in a million years make a fight with Povetkin, I guess Chagaev is a pretty good name to beat if Pov is getting serious about a title run. Should be an OK fight. Povetkin by TKO in the late rounds.

The WBA's reluctance to allow Wlad to have their belt is why Valuev/Haye/etc were all "champions" in the first place. IIRC when Wlad beat Chagaev he was WBA champ but they didn't allow the WBA belt to be on the line, only the other three. That belt has 0 significance at heavyweight.

They finally had to give it to him so they just made him "superchamp" (w/e the **** that is)and went back to having their own world champ. Think most people saw it coming.

It was pretty funny when they were trying to avoid having the tall, boring guy as their champ and then ended up with Valuev. Owned.

          ****ing WBA, man . . .

That said, I'm happy with this match-up. Despite myself, I still root for Povetkin and want to see him do well.

An interesting heavyweight matchup that doesnt include the Klitschko brothers?!

              GASP!

              Povetkin by UD.

Aside from the WBA belt shenanigans, nice to see Povetkin finally step his competition back up and to see two top 10 HWs fight each other in a non title fight. Been a while, besides maybe Arreola and Adamek.

**** THE WBA!! I wouldn't like to hold a belt that 2 other guys hold within the same weight class. The WBA is full of Bull****. It didn't take them long enough to come up with this crap.
