They were both mentally prepared to take hard shots to the noggin'. Wlad simply overpowered Haye with his strength and laser focus.

A rematch would be interesting to see if the first fight was a fluke, according to Haye.

I enjoyed watching the fight. It was pretty fast paced and was far better than standard Wlad output. The big man was defintely stretched and pressured and seeing Haye take a shot and deal with it was quite surprise for me, mainly because I feared for his suspect chin. Bu the took it and rolled with it well.

Only bad point is the lack of a KO.

Also this is off topic but doesn't Steward seem to give some bad advice to his fighters? I mean Wlad was clearly winning and Steward is telling him he is losing and giving Wlad a strategy that would give Haye a better chance to win. It reminds me of Cintron Margarito 2 where Cintron was clearly fighting much better from the outside but yet Steward was telling him to fight going forward and on the inside.

It was pretty intense. But it was apparent Wlad was dominant throughout the fight. Wlad made Haye earn his money in that one.

I saw the same thing, but it was the talking that got to most people. They thought it would be a Mike Tyson performance from Haye.

It's hard to tell with Steward being in the game so long. He must've known and seen something we didn't.

Everyone was expecting that KO. That put a damper on the whole thing.

Yeah I hear you with that but it just seems like common sense that if your fighter is winning and his weakness is his chin there is no reason for him to open up unless he was behind.

It wasn't horrible but it was bad.

Yeah, Wlad dominated the fight, but couldn't rule out Haye, he had enough power to put Wlad in trouble.

About people that were expecting Mike Tyson or something like that, that's just not logical. Wlad was going to fight the same way he always fights, and Haye was going to look to lure Wlad into his trap to land a hard counter. Wlad was smarter in this fight, his gameplan was better, but Haye did what he could, he knew that if he tried to exchange punches with Wlad he would be KOd...
