Is this really the best match up or a case of being in the right place at the right time??

the best matchup is floyd vs. pac but OTHER than that I don't see any other particular matchup as any better. Floyd vs. Martinez maybe

It's an incredibly opportunistic and smart fight that Floyd has very little chance of losing but can't be criticized for.

I agree with this post..What i don't get is Floyd would have been criticized by most for fighting Berto but it's all good for him to fight Ortiz??I really don't get it..

can only judge a fighter on his last fight, ortiz was impressive not many gave him a chance but he beat berto and is now a world champ, other then pac at 147lbs whos a better fight ??? good fight in my opinion. I think floyd took the fight to gauge where he's at in terms of how far from prime he is, and you never no ortiz is dangerous.

May could have fought Cintron(I know not a WW but I'm sure Cintron would have came down for that fight)May also could have moved up and fought a fighter at Jr MW as well...Ortiz is a bit of smoking mirrors, being the fact he was just out boxed by Peterson and made to give up to Maidana..But now Ortiz proved something by beating a fighter who laid on the ropes did not box effectively at all..And is overrated himself..I understand it's a smart fight for May to take, but I don't have to buy that it's some big thing that he took a fight against a very unproven fighter..

Cintron???????????????????????? Wow, I hope you're joking. Move up to JrMW and fight who Martinez? You expect Floyd to fight Martinez after a 16 month layoff? Ortiz earned the shot, no matter what anybody says.
