still no word from the berto camp?
zavec told the media he's been sparring with jackson osei bonsu, the former european champion - a boxer with similar style to berto. i think zavec is serious, and this is looking to be a really interesting fight.

lol at people picking Zavec despite not knowing anything about him and probably never even seen him fight hahaha

I think Berto is going to rip him apart, I think Berto speed will overwhelm him...and I am not even all that high on Berto either but Zavec hasn't fought ANYONE, he just been holding that belt hostage

While your right he has not fought anybody I seen a few of his fights and he is very technically sound..I also believe a technically sound fighter gives Berto trouble(look at the Collazo fight)..Berto has not improved and unless he is in camp working on a few things(like movement,a jab,and in fighting)he will lose this fight..He better not over look this guy that's for sure...

i have been on several zavec's fights so i can tell you the man's got power and a decent chin. so far he did really well against any boxer who opened up, and berto is that kind of boxer. speaking of resume who has berto beat? except collazo just a few over the hill names, and he lost to the first live opponent in ortiz.it will be a test for both, and i think a great fight.

but has he fought anybody as fast or even as good as Berto?

and your trying to turn it into "WELL WHO DID BERTO FIGHT"...bottom line, his Resume is much better then Zavec

I am really not impressed with either fighter to be honest, but I give a slight Edge to Berto in almost every category...EVEN POWER! But that doesn't mean Zavec can't win, Berto is a ****** fighter so if Zavec land some good shots early and once again Berto tries to slug it out like he usually does after his opponent lands a good shot on him, then yeah I think Zavec has a GREAT CHANCE

but if Berto BOXES and uses that quick jab to set everything else up, then I think he wins EASILY by UD

this fight better not come to the scorecards. because it's bound to be rigged in berto's favor. zavec would prolly have to win 8-9 rounds to win a decision which is very unlikely.
i would def.prefer if one or the other wins by ko, and have a clear winner for once.

Berto hasn't fought anyone, but he's still fought MUCH deeper competition than Zavec. Zavecs best wins are Hlatshwayo (good win), Jackiewicz (whos lost to a ton of nobodies), and Miranda (6 losses in their second fight). Bertos got wins over decent names like Urango, Quintana, and Forbes, all three former champions. As a Slovene, I wish Zavec the best of luck, and give him a chance if he bullys Berto and doesn't show him any respect

The truth is, we wont know if Zavec bit off more than he can chew, OR if Berto bit off more than he can chew, until they step into the ring.

zavec def.fought live opposition there. hlatswayo is very dangerous and skilled guy , but fortunately with a glass chin. jackiewicz at that time was zavecs bitter rival ,because he beat him in poland for the euro title after su****ious decision, and wouldn't give zavec a rematch after. so they met in the ring again for the IBF title where zavec destroyed him(and jackiewicz came really well conditioned),and a blind ass polish judge still saw a 114-114 there...anyway i think zavec has more than a chance against berto. berto is known to gas in the late rounds ,where it might give zavec a chance. early rounds zavec should probably avoid exchanging with berto though.

Zavec will need a KO to win in the US against Berto.

Otherwise he'll be robbed, like Lara, Matthysse (twice), and Kotelnik were.

Zaveck fought real welterweights, Berto was fighting opponents from smaller weight divisions like Forbes and Urango.

The fight will be in Biloxi, MS. That's not a good location for Zavec because of the intense humidity, which unlike Berto, Zavec will not be used to.

They will have a tiny crowd in Biloxi - this fight should be in Slovenia instead.
