    Nice list, sir!

On a side note, this is the second time I've agreed with Martin on something. I think I'm turning British =(
Nope. In addition to Liston, Joe Frazier doesn't belong there either. His competition was just not that strong, until he met up with two great fighters and was beaten in his prime by them. Here's the real list:

    1. Louis
    2. Ali (if this was about legacy, Ali would be #1)
    3. Marciano
    4. Foreman
    5. Dempsey
    6. Jack Johnson
    7. Holmes
    8. Jim Jeffries
    9. Lewis
    10. Tyson

Just off the list: Holy, Legends of the 40's/50's (Walcott, Moore, Charles), Tunney, Frazier, Corbett, Langford.

          Box,

You're really high on Tunney. Is there a reason for this? I think he was a great, great light-heavyweight and a respectable heavyweight champion, but he didn't accomplish much in the heavyweight field other than twice beating an inactive, post-prime Dempsey who had been boozing and ****ing around in Hollywood for too long.

I just can't see how you can place Gene over the more deserving guys? Also where is Dempsey? Somehow Tunney gets such a high place for beating someone (and an over the hill version at that) you don't even consider top ten material?

Or are these your top ten favorite heavyweights? In that case, you should have whoever you want.

I Must admit i didn't know that so many of his fights were Light Heavy, but even so a record of 65-1-1, AND quit as champion to me is deserving. But you're right about Dempsey, I Did overlook him I hold my hands up to that. Favourites did come into it with Foreman I DO believe that he's the 2nd best heavy of all time, but I also know I could be biased.

I Think you have to consider BOTH in their prime AND whole career, Tricky but both need consideration.
