I hate these threads, I am not American but they are NOT the most overrated, Us Brits over-hype our fighters way too much and in that sense you could say Brits are, but this can't be truly judged on a scale like no. of W champions etc.
Most overrated boxing country?

That's because there are a lot of other sports that are much bigger than boxing in this country. There's no comparing this country to any other country in the world and this topic sucks. It creates pure hate. Why would any of you want to contribute to that?Comment

Truth be told America ruled boxing for such a long time for like at least the whole 20th century! That's why at the moment people will say their over rated because there boxers today just don't compar to the past bunch, barring of course Hopkins and floyd who are the best of their generation!Comment

Frankly, its between the US and Great Britain.
US cause all the big fights are in the US, and no one complains about a possibly getting robbed over there, but even with home court advantage they still manage to lose.
Great Britain cause they fight even in football, but ever since Ricky Hatton they have failed to produce a truly native champion in the ranks. Not to mention that much like the US, they arent doing very well for a country with around 70 million people.Comment

False. Even Americans will vote USA. They love going against their own, I noticed. A lot of them want Froch to beat Ward, pathetic country
I voted for PR but I don't really mean that, it's just for fun. I think UK is the most overrated.
Also, Mexicans Puerto Ricans, Canadians, Europeans, etc. will vote for U.S.Comment

Just to be frank, these four options are the best boxing countries in the history of... well.... boxing!
I dont count japanese cause if you look at their history, they are the best country at beating themselves just to get more champions.Comment

In the top 10 P4P list there is 3 Americans, soon to be 4 if Floyd beats Ortiz. Hopkins, Ward, and Bradley.
Best Cruiserweight: Steve Cunningham, American
Best LHW: Bernard Hopkins, American
Best SMW: Andre Ward, American
Best WW:Floyd Mayweather Jr., American
Best JWW: Timothy Bradley, American
That's American who are #1 at their weight division[in my list].
Also Adrian Broner may be the #1 SFW in 2-3 more good wins.
The future of Super Bantamweight is Teon Kennedy.
And if Williams beats Lara; and the winner of Cotto-Margarito II is not too afraid of fighting Williams. Then Williams would beat the crap out of either of them and become the best 154 pound fighter.
I'm not even American, just being unbiased. American's are far from overrated.Comment
