They realize that the statement is another damaging proof of what most objective people have already concluded, and that is; FLOYD FEARS PAC and he will do anything to avoid this fight.
In the meantime, desperate Floyd fans are left struggling to save their idol. They continue rehashing erroneous and stale allegations. They use quotes from their own flock and claim these as truths. They point to statements made by people around Pac when it suits their purpose but question or even ignore what came directly from Pac's mouth. Now that Pac has clearly stated, in recorded video and in a posted web interview, that he accepts Floyd's demand of no cut-off date, they insist that it is not valid unless it is announced in any or all the major media outlets. They further insist that it should be on paper, again conveniently ignoring the fact that before it can be put on paper, somebody has to sit down to the table and negotiate. And lastly, the most asinine of all alibis: "Pac is lying". The end all statement. Except this one crumbles when followed by another simple retort; "Call Pac's bluff and prove once and for all that he is liar".
But neither Floyd nor any his believers would take that one step further to prove their point. The big question is, WHY? After scraping off all the mud and muck that have been tossed to muddle the issue, a single truth emerges. FLOYD IS SCARED OF PAC and Floyd supporters are equally scared to find out.
wtf? schaefer is hyping up the mayweather/ortiz fight. thats all he is doing.

So we compare Floyd Mayweather to David Haye here? How long have you been watching boxing?

Floyd Mayweather is no David Haye. He talks but he back it up. He's no chicken. Did everyone forget he has never been knock down? He's going to fight Pacquiao someday. He's not the only one who wants things on his own terms, De la Hoya, Ray Leonard all did.

ortiz will win not because ortiz is better, but because mayweather is an overrated boxer. if you watch floyd's fights he takes time in positioning himself before engaging. most of his opponents were fit for his style. with ortiz, floyd will be forced to brawl.

floyd losing is good for boxing. fans can move on and get ortiz/pac, instead, which is easier to make than floyd/pac.

Mayweather will beat Ortiz, but I still don't see the Pacquiao fight ever happening.

Floyd will never fight Pac just like he never fought the Ring top 3 welterweight in 2008-2009 Cotto, Clottey and Margarito but faked his retirement to avoid them.

Your logic is truly baffling. The majority of people who are hyped for this fight are looking at it as a prelude to a Pac/ Floyd fight. They see this as a tune-up for Floyd. Even Floyd said that Pac is next if he takes the test. Now Schaeffer comes out and says that he does not expect the fight to happen in 2012. THAT IS NOT IN ANYWAY HYPING THE FIGHT! In fact, it is doing exactly the opposite!
                Using your own language... wtf?

if ortiz beats mayweather, no way there will be a pac/mayweather fight...it will be pac/ortiz...

i also believe ortiz will beat mayweather because it is true that mayweather will have a hard time, has always had, against fighters that bring it (judah, castillo I, delahoya in some sense, etc...) <-- with that said, ortiz will bring it, apply pressure all nite. i dont see ortiz tiring out. when ortiz lands a big shot, look for ortiz to follow up with a few more, unlike mosley vs mayweather in the 2nd round. i can see ortiz playing with mayweather in the ring as well, talking to him, telling mayweather to fight, etc...

ortiz win by KO or stoppage,
or a disputed split win for mayweather :wank:
