Norton was an inch shorter than Corrie Sanders and around the same weight.

Wlad up to 1320 points on boxrec, puts him just behind Floyd Patterson in 6th spot. He might overtake Marciano's 1402 point 5th spot but no higher I think.

Tyson was able to get inside because of his great speed, head bobbing and weaving and footwork, and throwing unexpected awkward-angle punches at the same time, all calculated to get him there. Tyson never moved from one spot to the other without automatically putting himself into a position to punch. But if, hypothetically, they were to fight, Steward would have trained Klitschko in the tools neccessary to combat this, and he would keep tying him up and weighing down on him.

You guys ALL FORGET that Bonecrusher Smith, a big guy, and a Champion who had other tools, did this very same thing to Tyson, who couldn't do ANYTHING with him for 12 long rounds. And this was at a period in time when all the pundits were saying that NOBODY could last out through a fight with Tyson. Bonecrusher determined that he would. He didn't try to win, just to gothe distance...and he did, locked together with Tyson the whole fight.

I sometimes feel a little embarrassed at having to point out these things to guys who obviously come up short in boxing history and knowledge. The problem is that you can't get it just by watching a few fights and joining a site. You have to be in it since childhood, eat, sleep and drink boxing.

You mean "Bonehugger" Smith, who in my view held on for dear life. Let's also not forget Tyson was prone to some off nights, but Wlad is tailormade for Tyson.

As soon as Tyson got inside Wlad would either tie up, muscle him around, or push him back out of range. No way Tyson would be able to get inside because Wlad is way too strong and crafty.

I see Wlad slowing Mike down, and taking him in the late rounds were Mike was known to fade (due to his stamina issues).

Sure Mike could score a knockout, but Wlad would be too cautious and crafty early in the fight to allow that to happen.

Wlad by a boring (what you guys refer to it) 12 round lopsided unanimous decision.

Lennox Lewis (the good version) pounded a fat and shot Tyson more than 10 years out of his prime for 8 rounds before he went down, and he was quote "shocked and amazed" at some of the shots he took." Wlad has been beaten by far worse fighters than Buster Douglas, who had to hammer Tyson for 10 rds to put him down. Berbick, Spinks, Ruddock, Tucker, Bruno and even Pinklon Thomas are better than 95% of Wlads resume. The fact that Wlad was hit by a guy with some speed throwing one or two shots from oustide doing ambush raids would not bode well for him with what Tyson brings to the table.

Wlad would beat alot of good HW's who like to play chess outside.


Also Tyson would easily get inside because he is light years faster than Wlad. You can only hold until the ref breaks the action....Tyson did more damage in the process of getting inside than he ever did when he was actually close where most guys held on for dear life.

Stop living in the past. Half of Klitschko's opponents would have ruled previous eras like the 1970s, let alone the Klitschkos themselves.

I made a poll here recently and of 20 guys who claimed Haye will win, 19 also said that Muhammad Ali would win against Klitschko.

Which of Klit's opponents would have ruled in the 1970's? I certainly can't think of any.

I think both Klit's would be a hard fight for any heavyweight in history, but trying to claim that they've fought tough opposition is just plain wrong.

Ali was past prime and had his jaw broke in the first round. I don't know of many fighter who would have finished the fight let alone kept it close in that condition. Certainly Wlad wouldn't.

His skills were far more complete than Wlads, this shouldn't even be arguable to ANY objective fan of the sport. Wlad is unbeatable because the guys he fights aren't very good and the era is the worst for heavyweights in history. Sorry but that doesn't make a guy the greatest.

This is a weak era of HW. It did happen in the mid 80's. To the 4 bros credit they have beat most of the HW in their era. Nobody is greater than Ali.
