he surprised me when i saw him on friday night fights. talks pretty good spanish. had the mexican accent and everything. i hate it when a latino is born in the usa and cant speak spanish. it really pisses me off.

Ortiz knows Mexican fans are more than happy to adopt Mexican-American fighters to fight for Mexico especially if they're boxing against other races. Ortiz better step up to the plate, because this is a good chance for him to win a lot of fans, Mexican and otherwise. Floyd, love him or hate him, is giving Ortiz a big chance to shine on Mexican Independence Day.

Even Bam Bam Rios is giving Ortiz props, when he used to call Ortiz out for listening to punk rock, surfing, not being "real" Mexican and all that. If Ortiz keeps leaving it all in that ring the way he did against Berto, there's no way anyone can say he's not a real Mexican fighter.
