He is way too green for Floyd. The fact that he's only 23 years old is not a good thing. People make it seem that being young is good although it means that this guy is so inexperienced as they come.

Good to have FM back in the ring though.

Anyone who thinks Floyd is on another level is a fool.

The guy has fought 3 times in 6 years. He couldn't KO the much smaller Lightweight champion Marquez at Welterweight. His last KO was in 2005 versus a 140lb Hatton that went up in weight to fight Floyd. By his actions he is definitely not the p4p champ.

The harsh truth is Floyd knows he needs a big win versus a guy like Ortiz. And many more after that. Floyd know his window is getting shorter and wants to find out how good he really is. The way a real warrior would. It is good to see Floyd has grown up.

September 17 will be a proving ground for both guys. Ortiz trying to prove he has arrived. And Floyd trying to prove to himself that his career wasn't all cherry picked. Which sad to say... for the most part has been.

        May the best man win.

as for me...i see a pretty even fight but i am taking the 6 to 1 odds in Vegas for Ortiz.

Are you eying my 1284 points? Sure, if you're up for such huge odds I'm happy to take you up on it.

I agree with you but the problem with Ortiz getting off first is that he has NO jab. If he's going to try to get off first simply by throwing that lead straight left he is just going to get his ears boxed/countered off plain and simple. he's going to have to jab to win this fight and up to this point he has not proven he can do that effectively/consistently.

And Floyd can ABSOLUTELY hurt Ortiz. I mean how can you possibly say bring up Maidana when Ortiz quit against Maidana haha Mayweather will hit Ortiz twice as much as either of those guys.

Floyd other than not fighting much hasnt shown us that he has dipped so much to the extent he cant continue to win against green guys like Ortiz. FLoyd can lose on any given day though, and it would be a shame Ortiz would get all the credit for beating FLoyd first rather than Pac.

But i don t realy care who beats him to be honest.

but i think floyd is already done with boxing, after this....and will try to mend his life
I think it is a different way of looking at the same situation. Floyd is getting ready to move on, I would say because he knows he can't stay at the top much longer.

Besides inactivity there's no indication of that being true whatsoever. When he has fought he has been utterly dominate and showed no signs of decline. He's lost one round combined in his last two fights.
