Well, it would certainly have been nice to see you guys not turn on Manny Steward all of a sudden just because Haye exaggerated a conversation.

How quickly some of you forget all that Manny has brought to the table for Team Klitschko.

This allegation has more of an air of legitimacy than some of Haye’s other claims, because Steward has been very lavish with his praise of Haye in the past. Also, there may not be any love lost between Steward and Vitali Klitschko. As shown in the recent Klitschko documentary, the elder Klitschko brother resented Steward replacing Sdunek as Wladimir’s trainer after the younger Klitschko’s career went off the rails, and didn’t think much of Steward’s methods, at least initially. More recently, Vitali told Steward to “shut up” when the trainer was badgering his brother in the corner during his victory over Eddie Chambers.

In press interviews of late, Steward, who had previously been sky high in his praise of Wladimir, has been noticeably less enthused, making sure that he always name-checks Lennox Lewis as his best heavyweight, while constantly running down the current heavyweight division and also apologetically mentioning some of Wladimir’s less than gripping performances. This suggests that all may not be totally hunky dory in camp Klitschko as the Haye fight nears.

Whether Steward really offered to help Haye take down Vitali, or whether the Haye camp merely picked up on some of the ambiguous signals Steward has been sending out in the media lately and decided to play on them, is anyone’s guess. But this incident shows that Haye is willing to go to great lengths to create disarray in camp Klitschko as the title showdown nears.

Please note how Haye is actually not attacking Wlad, but Manny

"Of course, as much as I admire Manny, I feel I already have the best coach in world boxing in Adam Booth"

        by comparing him to Booth.

Even though I don't like Haye, I have to admit this was well-played, as whether Manny schemed with Haye about beating Vitali or not, it sounds a lot like something Manny would do. Everybody knows Manny is two-faced. Doesn't mean he's not a good trainer. And it's no secret that Vitali is not crazy about Steward. So it sounds very plausible.

Now Manny is a two-faced traitor who is scheming to bring down Klitshcko.

Well played David Haye, well played.

That article is just an anti-Steward diatribe with no evidence behind it.

                  Full refutation by Steward:
"“Pure rubbish,” said Steward, who did not clarify if he did or did not meet with Haye in Miami.

“Even if [Haye] did not have a match coming up with Wladimir, it would be totally unethical, and I would never do something like that, to train someone to fight the brother of someone I’m close to. But I’ve worked and trained with Vitali also, it’s a very close relationship we have. It’s not just a contractual deal like I’ve been in in some situations. I’m extremely close with Vitali and Wladimir.

“And for no amount of money would I do anything like that. The fighters I’ve been the closest with, are Thomas Hearns, Lennox Lewis, and I’d put Wladimir Klitschko on that same level. I’m extremely close with Wladimir and Vitali, and we spend a lot of time [together] beyond just the training camps and the boxing. So I would never do anything like that – it would be totally unethical and immoral” a bemused Steward explained.

As for the man Haye is actually fighting this Saturday, Wladimir Klitschko told dailymail.co.uk today that Haye is now sitting around in his hotel room in Hamburg, Germany, dreaming up crazy scenarios to try to avoid the reality of the upcoming clash.

“Do you believe all this nonsense? We’ve been hearing a lot of trash from David Haye and this is another thing he’s created in his hotel room,” said Wladimir.

“But little by little the reality is hitting home.”"
