"Manny even said he'd love to train me after I've bashed up Wladimir, his own fighter, on July 2. He reckoned that if we joined forces I would be in prime position to take down Vitali later in the year" - claimed Haye to his neighbor in the ward, Napoleon, while nurses changed David's straitjacket.

By Walter Freeman, from the loony bin.

All jokes aside, I think Wlad should dump Steward after this fight and finish his career with his brother as his trainer for the next 2 years.

Steward has been talking some **** about Wlad in a way, all the time he talks about how weak the division is when asked about the HWs, in a way, that denegrates Wlad's accomplishments. Also, while Steward has said Wlad is the most naturally talented HW he has ever trained, he still says Lewis was the greatest HW he trained. I think Wlad has already surpassed Lewis in terms of accomplishments.

Wlad doesn't listen to Steward anyway, and does his own thing, he basically told him to shut up in the Chambers fight. I think Steward was helpful in rebuiliding Wlad's confidence but Wlad was a world champ before Steward and will be one without him.
The division is weak. I don't give a damn about size and weight etc... I give a damn about good boxers and fit boxers, not the fat chumps we have today.

Wlad has a good record, a lot of fights, but he isn't as good as Lewis which I think Steward was aiming at. He did say Wlad had more power than Lewis, but in a weak division.

As for Wlad being someone without Steward, of course he can, but Steward didn't just help his confidence, he taught him to box. As for the Chamber's fight, Steward actually got him to go for the KO. Wlad right now will happily win a 12 rounder as boring as, even when it is clear he can KO a guy. That is why generally people, even boxing fans do not like him in the ring, especially when his brother has much more to offer.

this for sure is just BG, but even if it was true. Could Manny do much to help Haye?

I think Mannys works best with tall fighter who he can teach to fight tall and work behind their jab.

Pac and Mosley was a borefest because we had two "Good Guys" fight each other. This is a Good Guy and a Villain fighting each other, it makes things ALOT more interesting because of the animosity and the hype. Kinda like Barrera-Hamed

The villain is much more fun to be. Look at how excited BoxingScene is for this fight. If Haye was boring like almost all Wlad opponents, we wouldn't give a rat's ass. The fact that the two are bitter rivals really makes this a fight to watch!

Also notice how Alot of people who hate Haye are gonna tune in to want to see him lose. Mayweather did that formula and look how successful he became. Haye is doing the same thing.

Also, you guys are funny believing Haye's bluff of retiring when he beats Wlad. He's only using the Oct date of retirement just to pressure Vitali into fighting him. He and Vitali will get it on December in my honest opinion or spring 2012. Too much money is to be made!

I'm so surprised people even want Wlad to win in the first place. The HW division would stay boring and be uneventful. With Haye winning...it'd really open up the doors for more to happen.

I think there's a really big vibe in the air that Wlad will lose this one

                1) Stewart doesn't seem to be happy with Wlad right now.
                2) Wlad getting bent out of shape and getting pulled in with these mind games
                3) Stewart knowing Haye is very dangerous
                4) Klitschko's camp seems to be tense
                5) Potentially an even bigger fight after this.
                6) Wlad struggling with guys who had fast handspeed and power and were tall enough to get to him.
                7) Not really a sparring partner who can replicate Haye's style. Steve Cunningham is athletic but haye's style is pretty difficult to copy since he's unpredictable.

Got a huge hunch. This is starting to sound like Liston-Clay to where Liston lost in the build up considering he was shook by Ali's unpredictable nature and alot of people were saying Ali at the time wasn't proven and that Liston already was. I think Wlad's predictable yet effective style can be thwarted. If this was Vitali, I would pick Vitali...but Wlad i feel will be chewing more than he can handle.

Why is boxingscene putting up an article every time Haye shoots his mouth off with this kind of bull ****?

Whoever is writing this BULL **** isn't even signing his name I see!
It's simply quoting Haye - surely you aren't claiming that Haye didn't say what the article claims he said? In any case the same quotes have appeared in the British press, so I don't see how you can credibly claim that Haye was misquoted in the article, and if he was correctly quoted I don't see why the author of the article matters. And it's obviously news when a fighter says something like that about his opponent, however untrue their claim might be, so I don't see how you can object to the fact that boxingscene published it. Controversy sells.

However unlike the boxingscene article, the articles in the British press also quoted Steward. "But an angry Steward fired back: "There is no truth in this at all." " The boxingscene article should also have got Steward's side of the story - it's poor journalism IMO that they didn't.

My own su****ion, based on the video of Haye and Steward together, is that Steward may have actually said something in jest that Haye twisted and took out of context to make it sound like a serious offer when it wasn't.

He obviously did like Haye at that time, but I don't see a problem with that either. (He has probably stopped liking him now in any case, given that he has accused Haye of lying about this story, and also given the hand wrap allegations.)
