Devon Alexander seems to be coming up short after his fight with Juan Urango. what a buzz he had after that knock out and now he can't hang once he stepped up his competition. A lil disappointing considering the potential everyone thought he had.

IMO they (Devon and Paulie) both deserved each other just look at Team Alexander talking smack as if their fighter's the complete package.

funny how fighters take the easiest way out. Who would actually pay to see a Paulie Mag and Alexander fight? what cable would want to show it and why??? THought paulie was retired after his string of losses and Alexander should retire he is terrible.

Why move out of the hottest division in boxing? So much unfinished business at 140lbs. He must have a feeling that he can't hang with the top of the division, or he would stick around. I guess by moving up he'd be faster than most welterweights???

i never was to fond of Devon but what do fans what him to do. boxing fans expect u to be superman. all those fights u just mention Devon was in tough and struggle. then u got pp saying he taking the easy way out by fighting Paulie, let the man build on his craft instead of fighting on survival and instincts. its not Devon fault the judges are influences by the grunts. let him test the water at 147 like bradley, he'll realize he dont belong there yet. the paulie fight is work on things fight at 147 if not he's a fool to stay there.

Alexander will be Great Again!

I was very impressed with Devon Alexander on Saturday night. The fight was a close one, and I thought Devon pulled it off. The rounds Mattyysse won, he won convincingly, with sheer power and aggression. However, it wasn't sustained throughout the bout, and Alexander stole the close rounds.
But the reason I'm impress with Alexander is took a very very tough, avoidable opponent on his comeback fight after a defeat where his heart was questioned. Fighters don't do that anymore. When Victor Ortiz heart was checked by Maidana, he took a few soft fights to regain confidence, and he's now on the cusp of greatness. Most elite fighters take two-three soft fights after a major win or lost. Alexander refused to go that route, and for that alone, he merits great respect. It's not like he folded in the match either. He won the 9th round convincingly, when earlier he took a beating from Mattyysee.
Paul Williams is another fighter that should be respected for taking a dangerous fight on his comeback. But that's the way it ought to be. This is prizefighting, not some beauty pageant. Today's fighters just wants to be pampered.
