Alfonso Is Right Opponent and Will Beat the Kid

I am so weary of the Alfonso naysayers berating his talents. OK, I know exhibit number 1- Cotto beats him in bad fight. OK...throw it out. Why? There are reasons that lots of fighters are not coming into a fight at their best but go through with it anyway because it is a great opportunity. Look at the rest of his record. He has fought and defeated not just legends at the end of careers but younger opponents (Karass, Feliciano), and bigger guys (Manfredo, Brinkley Khaddour). GO on and beat your gums guys but you got it wrong.

He is a worthy opponent, and more than that, he will put on a very entertaining bout. The kid has NEVER faced someone with Alfonso's skills and power. I am sure that his corner thinks much like you that Gomez is right choice because he isn't a real threat. Thanks for the opportunity. Gomez will beat the kid.

To some extent...Alfonso Gomez makes sense. Two Mexicans going at it on Mexican Independent weekend. It's only logical to pack the September PPV show with as many mexicans as possible.

Gomez is on Miguel Cotto's resume... A fight Canelo wants badly...Gomez will be used as a measuring stick.

Canelo will be a undercard bout....so don't expect a tough opponent.
